Looking for a job

I think it depends on the company. If it's a small business, probably not. If it's a larger corporation, then yea they'll probably drug test. Same goes for a job in construction. "Small businesses" don't always want to go through the hassle but larger companies or unions do. Some places don't require a drug test upon employment but could require a random drug test at any time during your employment

if you can't go 2 months without smoking, then it's probably time for a break. 
 
i don't think they drug test construction workers. i guess it depends on your country.

 

You have to be out of your mind if you think construction jobs don't drug test... You are working with heavy material and you could definitely be injured on the job... Yeah they aren't going to hire any old meth addict...
 
And if it's for a decent sized company, they will drug test (for the janitor job).
 
Just quit smoking, get a job, and then start again...
 
Not trying to be an asshole, but it doesn't seem like you have a lot of motivation if the only jobs you're going for are the ones that don't drug test.
 
Hint: Most jobs worth getting drug test...

 

She was asking for advice, not worthless criticism.  You don't know her and her husbands situation. You don't know if they are taking it for health.
 
 Folks who are in construction, or many other jobs smoke all the time after work.  The buzz lasts for two hours aprox, and then it's gone.  She never said she wanted to go to work stoned or did she say her husband was wanting to get stoned at his construction job so stop with the assumptions people.  We are here to support each other, not tear each other down. 
 
To the newbie, there are herbal (apothecary) shops that you can buy tinctures that will clear your system of all traces so your test will come out clean.  Look to see if your town has one. Good luck. 

 

It depends on the company. I know plenty of Construction workers that don't get tested, my old man formerly one of them. It depends on the place.

 

Count on being tested. The right wingers are he'll bent on harassing our community at every opportunity. And what the guy said about construction workers being tested is true....Some do, some don't. ..The better paying ones will, the ones with the yard full of Mexican shovlers and lifters probably won't.

Don't smoke until you find a job. Better safe than sorry. I've done it 3 times and each time, I didn't get tested.
