Edibles that keep without refrigeration

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by grassrocks, Jan 28, 2015.

  1. Is there a type of edible that will keep for long periods of time without refrigeration?

  2. Define "long time"?

I believe most tinctures can be kept for years, some people say they improve with age.

Another suggestion, good for a camping trip or similar, might be individually-wrapped hard candies or lollipops. Not chocolate, though, because that can get messy in summer temperatures...

  3. I should have said that I'm talking about edibles you can make yourself.  It would be cool if they'd keep 6 months or a year.  I guess I could just store the shake and cook later but it would be cool to have edibles ready to go.

  4. All the things I mentioned actually exist and have recipes here on this site. I would not make suggestions of things that you cannot make; why would I do that?  ;)

What edibles have you made in the past, and how long did they keep, in your experience?

I've made brownies once and twice and they were devoured in short order. :)

EDIT: Maybe a tincture is the way to go.

You could make coconut oil and put them in capsules.  That stuff takes forever to go bad and no need to refrigerate.  Bad kat has a good recipe on here.

1 - melt coconut oil in slowcooker or whatever is available.
2- add finely ground cannabis or dry sift.
3 - cook/stir stir repeatedly for as long as possible(I aim for 4 hours min.)
4- strain bud and either bake some edibles or put into capsules
    5 - enjoy

Edit : If that cook time is too long for you, you can cook for as long as possible, not strain and let the oil sit for a day or two, then remelt and strain.  This will allow more time for the thc and other stuff to infuse with the oil.

  7. I would suggest a tincture.

Way fewer steps than capsules and more flexibility.

You can use it as is, or you can make a solvent transfer to oil or butter for cooking.

There is a thread called Dragon Lite follow the instructions there.

    You will not be disappointed.

  8. I have the Magical Butter and it looks like it's actually able to make tinctures.
