  1. i dont really want a pen as i just smoke at home. what is good as far as quality for a beginner? i dont need top notch stuff, but dont want crap either. ive looked at a few doneless nails but dont know if a dome is better. does it matter on quality of torch or are they all the same? how long do i heat the nail...stuff like that. where do i go to learn

  2. Ok let's start with glass.

For glass you really want something small and compact when it comes to concentrates. Little diffusion is also recommended. Granted the smaller and less diffusion you get the less the vapor will cool and your hits will be a little more harsh, but the flavor, the flavor on the other hand will be greatly increased.

    next, on to the nail.

This is when it gets complicated.

There are many designs and materials. Glass, quartz, ceramic, and TI.

If your going for quality, nothing beats a nice legit TI nail IMO. With TI you must be weary and not just buy a cheap China TI nail. You want to be safe and get name brand which is going to cost you.

Many people will argue that Quartz is better. They both have their place but I'm too clumsy for Quartz. Quartz is a lot like TI, they retain heat for a fair amount of time. And offer great flavor.

Ceramic is the newest to come about and offers great tasting derbage. However you have to be careful when hearing ceramic to ensure you won't crack it. Hot dabs taste like shot out of these.

Finally we have glass. The most basic and cheap of them all. They break easily and take a long time to heat up. Like ceramic you have to be careful when heating or it could crack. They don't retain heat very well.

Last question you have to ask yourself is do you want some or Domeless?

I personally see the done as obsolete. Domes are done for the most part but they still have their place.

  3. Part 2 cause my phone cut me off lol.

The torch is extremely important. Make sure to use butane!

Second, make sure to get a torch big enough to heat what ever size nail you got.

Lastly. Personal preference on rigs fur me is 14mm. IMO they offer the perfect combination of drag and nail size. 10mm nails are to small small for big dabs and 18mm rigs don't have any drag. It feels like I'm sucking through a straw with a hole in it

  4. Start by reading one of the million other threads about this. I didn't even read Yoshytsweak's post but he knows what he's saying so go with that before kids that know nothing fill your head with lies. Best of luck to ya

  5. InB4 water seasoning talk begins  :hide:

  6. Haha, ^ yeah! Research the lidenfrost effect to better understand what you have to do to season a nail correctly.

Don't listen to anyone who tells you that seasoning with water, or anything that involves dunking a hot nail in water, will be beneficial you your nail.
