Why doe USA led companies lie?

Discussion in 'Lighting' started by REALSTYLES, Jan 28, 2015.

  1. I'm curious of why they say American made when all the part they use are made in China? I'll go into detail more in this thread. Don't be fooled for I have learned a lot about led's and where they're made.

Ok Area 51 and Advanced Led Diamond series Made in the USA but the parts are from China. Please explain?

  3. they should say "assembled in the USA" or something..

  4. Bridgelux has a manufacturing plant in California.  Im not saying that AdvancedLED is getting their stuff from that plant, but Bridgelux does have a US based manufacturing plant.

That said, ALED only says that the LEDs are made in the USA.  They do not claim the entire product is USA based.

  5. Just because they are in California doesn't mean they are made in the USA. They also are in Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Italy, Africa and don't forget China.

  6.
Bridgelux is China made lol here's a couple of links you need to read

  7. Bridgelux has a MANUFACTURING PLANT in California.  What do you not understand?  Your first link even states this.   If you read my original post, I stated that I did not know whether the LEDs that ALED are using in their lights are from the CA plant or not.  They have multiple plants, this is well known.

I do not know whether or not ALED uses USA manufactured LED.  They claim that they do and the possiblity exists that they are using them.  From what I read, the newer technology and higher wattage lights are coming from the new plants that are going up.  They do utilize overseas for all of their LEDs it seems so the question lies in whether or not ALED is lying or not.

To claim they are lying outright is pretty bold.

  8. Dude can you fucking read? What's the links I posted about? Bridgelux manufactured in China.

  9. Straight from your first link.  Again, they have manufacturing in both China, Taiwan, and US (Livermore, also where they are headquartered).  The new VERO LED tech is 100% overseas.  They still have a plant state-side and still do manufacture from that plant so again, follow up with an ignorant statement such as "Dude can you fucking read?".

"Lining up a Chinese manufacturer should help Bridgelux's long-stated intention to expand into China. The company opened a factory in its hometown of Livermore in 2010 but also said at the time that it was eying China as a potential location for its next manufacturing operation. The benefits of China are about both low-cost manufacturing and also the Chinese cities' willingness to bankroll LED installations to promote domestically made LED lights. UPDATE: Bridgelux has been using contract manufacturers in Taiwan and China to make its products."

  10.
So is your computer, tablet and smartphone.  What's the problem?

  11. I know that. What is the title of this thread?  This thread is about LED's are made in China and assembled in America and being overcharged.

  12.
Because, if they told you the truth you would have said fuck it, looked up Sara Hu http://forum.grasscity.com/user/658786-smokesara/
on here from Mars Hydro family and bought one straight from them like many have. And they were very pleased with their purchases.

  13. What does it matter if it's assembled in USA or China?   Almost all electronic components are manufactured in China.

  15.
haha. see. lol. I'll check it out now. I got a 144x3 reflector off of Sara last year and sold it on CL for twice what I paid.

  16. Product made in China but either packaged or assembled in USA.

    Sent using GC App.

  17. Good choice :)

    Chef.

  18. You just being stubborn now bro? :)
Because when its assembled in China you get good Mars hydro prices, but when it's assembled in USA/Germany/England the mark up is stupid and the customer pays too much.

    Chef.

  19. All about that cheap labor

    Sent using GC App.

  20. Everything these days is made in China and either sent to USA for assembly or even only packaged in USA is sufficient to say ''American Made''

American cars are even more chinese than General Toa's chicken! lol

Hell! we even sell stuff to the american army from my workplace, as long as it goes through the american consolidation plant and gets the big ''American Made'' stamp the government won't complain even though the money is really going to Canada lol.

It's just a big hypocrisy from the Americans if you ask me, it doesn't matter shit where it was made, built or assembled. As long as they follow high quality standards I'll be happy.  and As long as we can enjoy the cheap labors (sometimes almost slavelike) to pay as less as we can, no one will complain.

So you ask, Why the companies ''lie'' to us and say ''american made'', well it's simple enough as we are stupid enough to get reassured by those two words ''American Made!''.  It's simple Marketing,  people associate Chinese components to cheap knockoffs and American components to high quality/high price, when in reality both quality and knockoffs come from China.

So if you were a company, would you rather say your stuff is Chinese and sell it at a lower price, or say it is AMERICAN MADE! and sell it a twice the price?  when in reality both are chinese?

At my work place we've had far more complaints on quality from Canadian/American made components than Chinese made components ever had...
