Should I buy this piece?

SWIM is getting rid of his nice scientific glass piece that he bought just recently.  It is a clear flo tube with 3, 8-arm tree perks and a diffuser downstem. I have used it before and in my opinion it is very nice.

However, I currently have a straight tube with an a/c and multi-arm diffuser downstem that I use pretty much every day and I love it.

    CONS
-The only reason I am thinking I won't like it, is that with my current set-up there is very little drag and it is  easy/quick to milk and clear.  I fear that if I do purchase SWIM's bong I will not like the switch from such an easy pull to a tighter drag.
-Also cleaning this would be more of a hassle, not that it is that much more difficult, but still a necessary process.

    PROS
-I think the piece would be excellent for one hit milky snaps, and a lot better then my current set-up in that category since the piece is taller and ultimately has more space.
-Better then my current set-up because my current tube has no percolators built in.

I couldn't really think of any other pro's besides upgrading to a more popular name brand but that is not necessarily a pro. I am looking for help so I can justify purchasing this piece. I am not sure how much he is going to charge me but THE PRICE IS NOT A FACTOR.  I am not worried how much I will pay, I am only concerned about the benefits or the negatives that would come with the new piece.

-Do you think the 3 percs make much more of a difference then having 1 or 2?
-Is there going to be a lot of drag difference from my current set-up?
-Are the extra percs worth the difference if I already have a set-up I enjoy?

Let me know some thoughts, it took me 5 years to make an account so I had to make a long first post!

EDIT: added photo of the bong I want to buy, or a similar model

  2. [SUB]Uhh...you said you've used it. I would assume using it would allow you to figure out whether you like it or not...[/SUB]

  3. You've used it so you should know better than me, but looks draggy as fuck with all those arm trees and a honeycomb.  Those honeycombs are usually found on china glass pieces, I don't think they function that well but they're easy to make which is why you see them on lower end pieces.

  4. I would pass out if I had to draw from that.

  5. Wow imagine the drag on that puppy!

  6. Haha poor wording on my part. I like the piece, that is not in question. I am more interested in people's opinions on the idea of 3 percolators.  Do you think it makes much of a difference from a single perc or double for that matter?  Is the smoke really cooled that much more or is it just more to clean and harder to hit?

  7. Depends on how well the percs are made, really. You could have a three perc bong that hits beautifully, and another one that hits terribly. And besides, it all depends on personal preference :)

  8. FYI "SWIM" isn't a rule requirement here on GC.

  9. Thanks for your concern but I was simply leaving a friend's name out.

This is true.  I've tested a few different types of Flo glass and they seem to have a consistent high quality.  I have seen some that are more on the thin side though.  Thanks for your response

  10. Something about a pipe that complex doesn't appeal to me, I keep my bongs simple! however if it hits nice do it.

  11. Bro not trying to kill the vibe but that is an unnecessarily large bong with an unnecessary amount of percs. Alot of drag and alot of potetial to break it. Get a smaller piece and a single perc that diffuses as much as those three percs together.

  12. For me that would be to much of a hassle to clean. I like to keep my bongs simple IMO but if you like it go for it. Never have to many pieces lol

  13. I think bongs like that are free showing off.
I'm loving my Itty bitty science bong.

  14. This is how I feel.  I don't think all that extra glass does anything more then a straight tube with a solid perc and a/c.  Thanks for your opinion.

Definitely not killing any vibe brother! You pointed out a couple facts I had already been thinking about like its way too big and a TON of drag.  But I hand't thought of the break potential which obviously goes up with more percs etc.  Thanks for your input, and shout out to NYCchronic repping the same state as me

  15. If price isn't a factor, you have much, much better options at your disposal. For what it's worth, I'd rather hit a straight tube than that. Everything from hitting it to maintenance will be a downgrade.

  16. God perks are life ! My favourite bong that i have ever ripped from was a double perked bong that was about 2/3 the size of the one you want (couldnt tell you the name sorry dude) the thing just had such great flavor and the smoke felt perfect. I asked my buddy how hard it was to clean and he said it takes him 5 minutes he just runs rubbing alcohol through it then Listerine afterwards and its spotless. But i will agree that the bigger you go the easier it is to break the bong SO DONT PUT THAT SHIT ON THE GROUND !  ;)

Youngbudder420 I got 5 on that 20 sack :smoke: :smoke: :smoke:

  17. thanks for your opinion! very similar to how I feel. a little too big and I don't think i want to be taking care of this piece for very long lol

yeah this one is pretty big so I don't think the flavor would be as good in this Flo as whatever piece you tried.  And I agree with your buddy. I used to have a ZOB beaker with a huge UFO perc and splash guard that was much bigger then my current tube and it wasn't too much harder to clean, I just had to use more Iso and salt. thanks for your input
