Just a little douche story

  1. so my roommate is used to smoking blunts and seen me hitting my bong and was like those are really cool, i think imma get one. i was like yeah dude bongs are nice. so in the meantime he asked if i would let him borrow it a few times till he gets one and i said sure. fast forward to like 3 days ago, he breaks the down stem so now its completely trash and he said hell replace it but the thing is it was my friends and he wanted the exact same one and it cost 180. my roommate goes out and buys a shit bong for 150 without even asking me and basically sayings its me and yours, but i was like no thats not our bong its my friends and my friend doesn't want that bong. so heres the douche part.. my roommate gave me options. 1. take 120 in cash and things will be settled ( he kept saying it was used thats why he was trying to give me 120) or 2. let my friend take my roommates bong after a few months and he can keep it after that. so basically i had to give my friend an extra 60 bucks just because he wouldn't pay me in full. but like wtf? you broke my friends bong..replace it. why do i have to pay for your actions? what would you guys do because i feel my way is fair..

  2. So why couldn't you get a new downstem?

He should just pay for it. He broke it.

  5. At least you've learned a valuable lesson. Never let anyone borrow your glass. I wouldn't care if it was some best friend that saved my life in some war, I wouldn't let him borrow my bong. He can use the thing as much as he wants while hanging with me but that bong would not go out of my sight with anyone else because if you haven't noticed, EVERYONE is soooooo uncautious while holding a bong. It makes me cringe a little watching certain people hold a bong so stupidly. Hopefully you can explain to your friend what happened as well as explaining common fucking courtesy to your roommate(he sounds like a dope).

  6. I think there's two situations here. For one, yes your roommate had broke the bong and is obligated to replace it with something identical. On the other hand, you did let him borrow the the piece and have to assume responsibility for loaning it when it wasn't yours to begin with.

I would just take the $120 and pitch the remainder to get your friend a replacement bong. Your friend shouldn't have to pay the price for a mistake he didn't make. I have to say though your roommate is a total douche. Good luck with the situation. Keep us posted.

  7. You said he chipped it? Why couldnt he go buy some super glue for two bucks and fix the peice he chipped? He shouldnt have to pay 180 that's rediculas

    Party at my house

  8. You fucked up lending, lended property, and you should pay the difference imo. Im surprised he was able to find a $150 bong that was still a piece of shit

  9. Ya man it sucks but take the 120, and, pitch in the other sixty. While it sucks, and, your roommate is a bitch for not paying all of it... It wasn't yours to loan.

  10. dont loan out stuff that isn't yours

    simple as that

  11. Yall are right. I learned my lesson. Its the fact that im nice enough to let him borrow it and he doesnt want to take full responsibility

  12. but wasn't it technically your responsibility because it was your friends bong and you let another person use it?

Pics? What do the bongs look like? It would add perspective

  13. Don't lend things that aren't yours. ;)

  14. It happens to the best of us. I would have done the same if I were in your place.

Sucks it had to be you.

  15.

lol c'mon bro, it's not THAT serious.

although every bong that I've see borrowed has been broken by someone other than the owner

  16. Before anyone uses one of my bongs over $100 I always let them know beforehand how much it cost and that if they break it they buy it. Some people get kinda offended but most understand. I do it because ive had a similar situation happen to me. And holy shit it annoyed me when my friend wouldn't pay for me to get a new one because it was used.

Acted like it was a car and that as soon as you use it, it's value decreases by 50% luckily this was only a $30 piece and not a $180 one

  17. give up the money and learn your lesson. sucks man but you gotta do what ya gotta do. first off, square up correctly with the friend who is out the bong. second chalk up the rest to experience and know that 60$ is probably getting off cheap from a guy who would burn you like that. i wouldn't call that guy a friend of mine any longer.

  18. You're kind of lucky he offered to pay anything at all considering in most of these threads the OP is complaining that the friend won't pay at all.

Don't lend out other people's stuff too

  19. Haha i swear. Tryn compare apples to oranges
