Sick Spontanica

  1. I have a unidentified problem with my KC Brains Spontanica plants, they are in coco under 24/7 two 23W CFL's, I started with sprouts that quickly got nut burn and I flushed with good results, they sprang back so I gave them a watering with 1/4 mix nutz once, then I started noticing these brown spots and yellowing, they are growing not stunted and new growth looks good but spreading from what I can see, I flushed again and went to straight water then after noticing this I watered with a little MagiCal at 1/4 and water......

    Here are some pictures.....Help!

  2. Nute burn is what it looks like... Should wait a week or so to start using nutrients just stick with PhD water

  3. Yeah I just wonder because I wouldn't think that there was enough nutrients in the coco at this point but I will continue to do that for now, I also moved the light up a bit I think that it was too close and maybe partly to blame..... Could it be a Mag/ Potassium def?

  4. It doesnt look like nute burn at all.

Nute burn starts on the edges, is immediete and burns. Looks like someone painted the plants tips brown.

OP your ph is too low. No doubt somewhere in the 5.7-6.2 range. Raise your ph and the nitrogen, phosporous, magnesium and potassium deficiencies that are only just beginning will cease. And for your sake, lower those lights back down to an inch or two away. Cfls have NO penetration whatsoever..

  5. Thank you thats what I was leading towards because of the progression of problems with just water. I have been  adjusting my ph of my water and nutrients to 5.5-6.5 give or take... so your saying raise it? My well water come out of my tap at 7.8-8.2 so I always have to lower it, however I used store bought RO water that was coming in at 5.5-6 and thats what I was watering with....

I will start watering with 1/4 strength with what you were saying but your saying I should raise my Ph higher? What should my rez. solution be?

  6. Also on the light topic, I am hoping to transitioning to my MH.. so Ill start hardening them off

  7. So when you say 1/4 strength nutes it would be helpful to know what line you are using. I know you said 1/4 strength of magical but did you add anything else?

Also, why in the world would a plant that small need 1/4 strength nutrient solution? that thing shouldn't be anywhere over 150ppm.

  8. Its actually responded very well to the ph raise to 7 and I am using CX Hydroponics line but over all I am very happy to see it doing so well now, just topped it because it was getting lengthy but I will keep and eye on it...

  9. tread carefully..i think poke forgot that your in coco when he said raise it, coco likes a ph in the high 5's

  10. You know thats what I was thinking about today, I have my other ladies at a low ph 5.5-6 tops and they do very well but these are doing better at 7 for some reason? Anyone think its because of this strain... never heard of a strain that liked a ph of 7 but it seems to be ok with it.... I will keep an eye on any changes.... I thinking that maybe it was lack of nutrients and maybe I should adjust my ph back to 6.5 or so...

  11. So here are some pictures of the ladies, looking a lot better, thanks for the help, these are pictures at 2 weeks and 3 weeks, I am now feeding with 1/2 strength nutrients, Im actually testing CX Hydroponics line of nutrients to give them feedback with, seems that they corrected any nutrient problems
