My first grow - Norther Lights Blue by delicious 312 watt CFL grow

    Hey everyone! Today is day 19 from seed sprout and things look fairly decent. I think I may have a bit of an over watering issue but I am working on that. I am using 312 Watts of 6500k CFL's and will be going to 2700k for flower. I'm am growing in 100% perlite in a hempy bucket. I have a s&p TD 100x for exhaust which is 135 CFM. The temps are consistant at 82 with lights on and 68 off. Humidity is low at 30-35. Feeding her with GH flora 3 part at 50% and will also be using green planet's massive bloom formulation and green planet's terpinator. I will be topping or fimming soon and will LST the plant to,fill the grow box. The dimensions are 24"x18"x36". I will post a pic of her here shortly.

    hey man your llil one looks great, looks like you did your homework before growing is it your first? what strain?

    312 w cfl for one plant is great btw

    Thanks man! Yeah, I did do lots of reading before jumping into this as I wanted to do it right the first time. The strain is Northern Light Blue by Delicious seeds. It is a feminized seed as well, so all should be well (fingers crossed). Hoping the yields will be there. I will be doing some LST and either FIM or top her as well.

    I will post a pic of her tonight and will try and keep the thread updated regularly.

    The pot was very light this morning as I emptied the res yesterday to try and give the roots some air. I let it go 36 hrs and checked and the pot was considerably lighter. I watered with 1/2 strength GH glora series nutes with vitamin b1 as well. 1 litre feeding of that followed by .5 L of r/o water.

    I did have hard water but have just switched over to the r/o water for hopefully less issues. I have the GH flora micro for hard water. Should I buy the regular one now that I am using RO water?

    As well, how does she look! I was worried about the leaves drooping some.

    Above pics are on day 20 from seed. She has very tight nodes, think this will be good for topping and LST?

    sounds like a great strain, hope your luck with feminised seeds isnt like mine out of 6 plants my 2nd biggest turned out to be full on male. if you veg long enough and keep using 312w im willing to bet your yield will be good

    No way!! Who did you use for seed co? That's brutal, I would have contacted them supplier to let them know. Seeds aren't cheap by any means. And us cfl growers rely on a few plants and a male is just a kick in he nuts!! I'm hoping for 0.5 g/watt after I get a few grows under my belt. 4-5 zips would make my day!!! High hopes I know....

    Also, anyone reading this journal that has some advice for me, I am all ears. If I am doing something I shouldn't be or if I should be doing something differently just let me know. I really appreciate the advice especially being my first grow.

    well so far your doing great man but id say start nutes at 1/4 strenght than 2/4 a week after if they like it or if your soil has nutes already id wait after a month, but bro you seem to really know what your doing.

    Oh I agree with taking it easy on the nutes. Perlite is a neutral medium the with no nutrients in it. I have to start feeding them nutes every feeding (from what I read). They OP of a hempy bucket thread advised to feed full strength nutes every feeding with the GH Flora series 3 part nutes. I've just been playing it safe...don't want to deal with nute burn and stunted growth.

    i used canadianseedbank.ca but i figured i dont want em to send me just a seed so i ordered from the vault for my second grow. lol funny you say that when i found my male i posted on my journal that it felt like a kick in the balls lol 4-5 zips with cfl would be really hard but i think with a great cfl grow you could get 3 zips but you will need a taller space to grow and side lighting. With 2 feet you got i dont think you should veg very long heres whats up with mine i had a 2 week old from sprout that i flowered and it ended up growing to 16 inches tall + pot size over 2 feet. with shorter veg smaller yield tho

    I read once of a guy pulling just shy of 125g of his cfl grow (1 plant) and one guy only...lol

    I made super high hope but really a couple of zips I would be very happy with. I have approx 22" to work with of floor to lights. Bucket is 8" tall. I was thinking of veg to about 8" tall and do some serious lst to keep canopy even. As well, lollipop to concentrate all growth towards canopy which should eliminate the need for side lighting. I know space may be pushing it but I guess work with what we have right? Gta seed bank I have had good dealings with for future reference.

    How big was the two week old plant? My plant is 3 weeks today from seed sprout, and maybe 3" tall tops. The 6th set of real leaves are coming in now, 3rd set of true leaves. If I get it to 7" tall and lst the heck out of it I hope it wouldn't get past 21" tall by end of flowering. I could be way wrong tho. I thought they said that plants will double in size when flowering...

    it was the same size as yours when i started flowering check back a few pages on my journal youll see aha but i didnt lst or top it

    yeah it can double or triple but for some reason mine grew 10x bigger

    i want to mention this is my first grow so my knowledge is limited and my lst sucks aha

    Yeah, I'll anticipate for a triple stretch and start flowering when it is approx 7-8" tall. I should be topping her after the next set of leaves come out fully and the node develops a bit more. Then I can start with the LST and hopefully create a little monster!

    It's my first as well, so it will be interesting to say the least. I have no experience with LST either except for lots of reading haha

    Hey man excited for this grow! I'm along for the ride. Ive only grown once so my knowledge isnt the best. Anyway good luck man!
