I'm in the middle of compiling a list of required items for my grow tent. I decided on going with a 3x3 grow tent since I live in an apartment. I'm thinking either 6 plants, allowing each plant 1.5 sqf of space to themselves. Or 4-5 with each plant getting 2sqf per plant. My desired yield is 2-4oz/plant (2oz/plant is perfectly fine and reasonable as well), and I'm going to do the scrog/lst method. What LEDs would you suggest for the tent, plant amounts, and desired yield? I'm looking for some reasonably priced LEDs. Something that puts off an 'actual watt putout' that's pretty high. In my searches I've found these so far: 1 2 3 Would any of these be good? If not, what would you suggest. (As I said, looking for something reasonably priced as I'm trying to keep my start-up costs as low as I can) Thanks, ~Hazy Jester
I need at least 350w for my grow, and to achieve that I'd have to buy their $1,200 light. That's not the kind of 'reasonably priced' I was referring to.
Hey mate. I've got a very similar space going at the moment and im using the marshydro 300w light with two plants. I think you'd struggle with anything more than two plants with those lights. Their actual draw is about 180w. I'm about to upgrade to the marshydro ll 900w for that space and they're only about $400 if that's in your price range.
I am using 2 Solar Spec 150s (300w total) in one tent and a SS 260 (actual watts) in another Watts are not the best measure of a light The 2 parameters cannabis responds to are 1. umoles/m^/sec 2. Intensity Amare is among the highest in leds, regardless of price and, they were designed specifically for cannabis Great warranty too
The title of the first link you posted has "Beware Fake 300W Made ByJunk LED, 30cmL/90W/2.5kg ONLY!" in the title lol. You get what you pay for though, and you can't just force a cheap LED to work. Like others said the best budget ones are going to be Mars Hydro. Otherwise I completely support the AdvancedLED lights as Icemud said. If you need to stick to budget lighting, consider using HID lighting instead. That'll be enough to grow more plants and more in your budget.

None of those blurples will cover your space, or provide enough intensity for a worthwhile harvest. HPS is your cheapest option, but with cooling, power consumption and maintenance, it’s not that cheap. I would suggest a quantum board led. These are the most efficient LEDs in the business, and if you are semi handy, you can build a light for your space for about $250. Might need to be patient until they come back in stock on amazon in four packs or call HLG directly and see if you can work out a deal Here’s the charts for the various spectrums and an old pic of my flower table with two four board lights and a blurple. I’m building a new light with the new qb96elite v2’s and moving a third qb120 setup in to replace the blurple. There will be 12 total in 4x4
