I am from Canada and would be interested in knowing what the laws are for cannabis possession and for growing. I have been searching, but am not really understanding the law on this. Thanks
A bunch of lawyer gibberish here... http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/C-38.8/ Cannabis is a schedule II drug... Basically...it says that, if they really want to, they can nail you for up to 5 years less a day for simple possession... Typical first time offence would be $1000 fine and 6 months in jail... The way the law if written, and the way it is enforced is often quite different though...it would greatly depend on where you are, as well as any past criminal history... I've smoked around cops before and just had them ask me to be a bit more discreet...
Is it true that with growing <6 plants you only get 6 months but any more than that up to 100 is something like 5 and any more than that is 20 or life or something? I think I remember learning about this in my crime class, but that doesn't seem to match up with <5years for possession.
Hopefully we will soon not have to ask those questions. Liberals have legalizing cannabis on their agenda if they win, so lets hope they win in the upcoming election. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-grQtlRUlA
>any politicians keeping their word about anything past the election date. Lol, they change their promises as often as they change their underwear. Also, in this case i'm afraid that the libs are being headed by a noob. I don't wanna get into a political debate, but I'm not sure if he's got the skills to properly pass such legislation without getting royally and publically ass-raped by the opposition.
Here is a very informative video in regards to the laws in Canada. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tLIWFV4w3c
It's been a while since I watched that video but I highly recommend Canadians who are interested in growing watch that video. Edit* scratch that. I was wrong about most of what I has wrote. If you watch at 20:00 he goes over the production laws very specifically.
