A Less Boring Title Than The Original One

  1. Theoretically speaking would it be possible to build so many Solar Panels all over the Saharan desert, or preferably further south by the equator, to power all of Africa, Europe and West Asia?

And wouldn't that create more jobs since more people would have electricity and in turn enable more countries to develop their economies and start exporting/importing which would benefit the entire world economy?

Do uhaul see any issues with this theory?

  2. "Its "does" U-Haul see any issues eight his theory?"

And yes, I'm sure they do

  3. What happens when the sun goes down?

  4.

    Uhaul = yuhall = y'all

It's a play on words so technically it's "do".

I didn't understand the "eight" part tho.

  5. the eight part was my.own typo same.as yours that I didn't notice till after

  6. Power lines would be a major issue

  7. Not to mention who's gonna pay for that shit.

  8. Yes delivering the power or storing it is the hardest part. The governments around the world need to be subsidizing solar and wind power to all homes and companies. I think Germany is a leader in solar power . Any Germans on the forum may be able to shed more light on the subject. There's no point in doing things that would just benefit humankind as a whole, you commie. What's the profit motive?

  10. Profit has nothing to do with it.  It's a harebrained idea.  Assuming the problems of no electricity at night and transmission were solved how long do you think such an installation would exist considering where the Sahara is located?

  11. logically proffits are important.

    Overall.money is representative of resources.

If the programs are not profitable then they are not sustainable

they are doomed to fail from the start.

  12.
First off yes you're right the Sahara is a bit too rough, best bet would be closer to the equator. And to your second point, which you made twice, the excess energy is stored in a conserving system. It doesn't have to be used immediately.

I never said it would be free. Of course people would pay, how else would you pay the workers and repairs?

  13. Actually I made the point once but mentioned it twice.  How about putting transmission lines around the planet on the equator so the electricity just goes around in a big circle until someone uses it?

  14.
Or we can just store the energy, lol we don't have to over complicate it.

You made it in two separate posts, ergo twice.

  15.
    You point things out unnecessarily.

Get off your high horse if you want better discussion about your idea.

  16.
scuse me? Read his posts, he's clearly being facetious . Sending electricity in a loop around the world until it's used. cmon guy for real.

And secondly he did make the same point twice then claimed he didn't. Pointing that out doesn't make me condescending.

  17.
Of course, you are right. I apologize.

    Enjoy your discussion.

  18.

    ^^

    this..

  19. you can pay for it, from all your snazzy grow op's , of course you will share in the profits.
hell these solar panels pay for them selves, especially the new 2014 high tech ones, which are suppose to be way more efficient.

How would the energy be stored?  There isn't a battery that could do it.  I think my idea of sending it in circles around the world until it's used is just as good an idea as covering the Sahara with solar panels.

How many times is that?  And you've pointed out I mentioned it twice three times now.  Old people repeat themselves, what's your excuse?
