A Homage to Rick Simpson: A Medical Marijuana Icon

Discussion in 'Marijuana News' started by George - The Vault, Jan 24, 2015.

  1. Where did he get his chemistry degree or training from?

  2.
Not every medical pioneer began with a medical degree – just keep an open mind.

  3. Quackery is not something I support. My mind is open to facts and evidence, not slick sales reminiscent of snake oil salesmen of the late 19th century, especially when it comes to the well being of my fellow man.

Open mind also means to open your eyes.

  4. speaking of late 19th century, how about those cannabis sativas prescribed by the medical pharmacopeia then with proven medical results all the years it was OK back then.  have we forgotten our past with all the new man made lab quackery trying to emulate nature as we see and recognize it while residing here on earth. how far we have come to keep stepping backwards in common sense practices. more technology and more credit to man for trying to do what nature does before we even came to the planet?????

  5.
What has Rick Simpson ever tried to sell anybody? Seemed like he was giving a lot of his oil away for free to folks who came to him wanting it. Also spread info for how folks could do it themselves, even under threat. How is that in any way reminiscent of a snake oil salesman?

RSO and other cannabis extracts do /wonders/ for the well-being of a lot of people, yet all you seem to want to do on here is talk shit about it. Rings more of harassment than helping your fellow man.

  6. Rick Simpson Oil does not need a medical degree or extensive knowledge. It is just a rediscovery of what was always there. It can be produced by anyone at little to no cost.

  7.
  8. His son pushes for "donations". Also get me a free sample or one for yourself. Ask the families receiving if they are encouraged to donate. On top of that, who cares when it just does not work as intended.

  9. He is claimed to be a chemist. I do not know about you but for normal people that invokes a sense of education related to medicine. Claims of extraordinary healing need extraordinary proof.

  10. Not seeing where or when he's "claimed to be a chemist," and the donation info on the Phoenix Tears website is so out of the way, I'm really just not seeing the snake oil argument. He doesn't sell anything but a book, a pretty cheap one at that, and not something you need to make the oil.

PLENTY of folks on here and elsewhere have first hand experiences where RSO has helped them. I'm one of them. Please, do explain how it "doesn't work," we're all dying to hear about it.  :confused_2:

I see extraordinary proof everyday when people I help report back to me. Yea thats all the proof i need. Having skeptisim is healthy, but some take it to the extreme. For those cancer and dealing with chemo is the only thing that will change their minds.

  12.
I've had lots of "free samples" of RSO. :D I am starting to believe you do not understand anything about RSO at all. You insinuate that you can only get it from Rick and his family, which is not true. RSO is simply a form of decarboxylated concentrated cannabis that is meant for oral intake, and is by far the strongest method to get cannabinoids in your body. Many of modern MMJ uses, including the use of MMJ for Dravet Syndrome, is made possible because of this oil.

Rick Simpson has never once claimed to be a chemist. He is actually rather outspoken about his lack of formal education.

  13. progmo guy vs nature guy. gmo man wants everything to reflect back on man and all his glory to reproduce/replicate/splice, what nature offers in bounty and abundance to claim man is all powerful because he changed natures formula (genetically altered) to fit his needs that started 20 years ago. nature has been whipping genetic soups up with a jump start over man of how many years???

now, nature man works with what nature already provides in abundance claiming nothing, all glory to nature! man is here to serve humanity with natures bounty harvesting the best and healthiest of the species for medicine. the only part nature man has in the medicine is to listen to what nature is saying and when/what to harvest.

if something is not broke why try and fix it ( GMO)??

  14. I'm not sure anyone has ever gotten rich by donations.  And it takes time, effort and money to get the word out.  The least folks can do is donate to help in those efforts.  I used to run a donation only kids art studio and boy, did those donations help me out tremendously. Never got rich off of them though.

I admire the hell out of Rick Simpson and all the hard work he has done to help spread the word about the healing properties of cannabis.  It would be pretty easy to let "healing people" go to your head, yet I see a humble guy that is passionate about cannabis and has worked diligently to get the word out.   That, is a good legacy to leave behind.   He is someone to be admired clearly.

You do not get out much do you? Donations make people rich all the time.

He is a fake. he has never showed his biopsies of his other "skin cancer". cannabis has no healing properties.

It has medicinal properties but heals nothing. If you have evidence of such please post what weed has cured.

I wonder all the people it has failed with. Actually having read some of their comments and seeing the how offended people are here when presented with facts, the many failures of RSO do not post. of course RSO and their pushers do not post them, like other scams most people are likely not real or getting free stuff to pander.

People earn my admiration, snake oil salesmen do not.

  16. You seem to ignore the fact that man too is of nature. We just know how to get the best out of it.

  18. personally I believe we are planted here from elsewhere created with the parts and pieces (dirt and salt) that make up the planet ( elements). we do not act like any other creature here ( respectful of earth) and do not communicate with the elements consciously to mold our existence. it is an unconscious act to be alive and know you are alive understanding (or not) the billions and billions of pieces that in totality make us an entire human organism. in terms of conscious life we are basically at the very bottom of the barrel looking up in wonder at it all. and to think we are going to successfully genetically modify anything with our extreme tiny consciousness will be certain destruction to the modified.....!!!!!

  19.
Man, ProGMO is just a semi-functional troll here, specifically in any thread where there's talk of cannabis helping people. There are numerous stories all over the web and threads even around here where folks share their experiences with RSO, but apparently it's all a "snake oil sales pitch" or something to that effect, even though nobody's selling each other anything...  :hide:

Do your own research and see what you find. I don't know why this dude has such a passionate hate for people healing themselves with cannabis, but don't let his vitriol sway you from doing honest research.
