Hey everyone this is my first post on this forum and would GREATLY appreciate any helpful tips or suggestions for my first grow!

Basically I decided to try growing my own plant to save some money by using this Space Bucket I made over the weekend Space Bucket.jpg . The strain I am trying to grow is Blue Dream and I received this clone Monday 1/19/15. When I transferred the clone to its new 3 gallon smart pot home and new medium (Fox Farms Happy Frog) it seemed to be happy at first and I only watered it a few cups the first day with no nutrients but didn't really flush/have runoff water from the soil while watering the first time Day 1.jpg .

On Tuesday my plant was drooping and I thought maybe not enough water so I ended up putting only one or two extra cups of tap water  Day 2.jpg . I then thought maybe it had too much water so I haven't given it water since Tuesday 1/20/15.

Now its Friday 1/23/15 and my plant looks so sad and I am honestly not sure what to do to help it not droop anymore Day 5.jpg . I took a close look at the leafs and can see some dark stains on it  Day 5 leaf color.jpg Day 5 leaf example.jpg . The soil on top looks dry Day 5 drooping example.jpg  but when I stick my finger in the soil it still feels damp and not much drainage can be seen in the drain container. Should i just wait until soil is less damp or give it nutrients?

The stems seem to look a little purplish if this helps anyone.

  2. What is your temp & humidity? What your soil? How often have you been watering? Have you been giving nutes? How much & how often?

  3. I was going to buy a gauge for it today to see the humidity and temp. As for the soil I am currently using Fox Farm Happy Frog and I haven't watered in the past 3 days due to the soil still feeling moist/damp. It has only been 5 days since I started this project. I haven't given it nutrients yet to let the roots develop as this is a clone and I didn't want it to be under too much stress, but the nutrients I intend to use is the Fox Farm Trio.

  4. Have you made sure there's drainage holes in the bottom of the bucket? If there's not sufficient drainage holes, you'll suffocate the roots, thereby killing your plant.

  5. Yea i have several drainage holes and know that drainage work because although I haven't "flushed" the soil yet to really test run off water, I can still see some water making it through the bucket to the drain bucket. Is it a good idea to just water it today with a flush to have a 20% excess water so i know my plant is hydrated or wait until the soil isn't as moist in the middle?

  6. Let it dry out and get a thermometer/ hygrometer. I would imagine in a small space like that it would be pretty easy to get too hot

  7. Alright, right now the plant is in its 6 hour rest so I'll inform of the temperature once the lights come back on. Would it be a good idea to get a moisture gauge so i can really tell if soil needs water or not?

  8. Stick a lead pencil all the way in the soil, pull it out and if any soil sticks to the pencil don't water your plant. A simple but effective technique to test the moisture content of any soil.
