So as I figured out I forgot lime in my mix, stupid me so I have a cal/mg deficiency. I'm gonna water with Epsom salt to finish out these 2 I'm flowering then add my lime when they're done. My question is how much Epsom salt do I add to a gal of water that's safe

    1/3 pro mix HP
    1/3 perlite
1/3 vericompost ( I used local bagged ewc and compost)

    2-3 cups per sq/ft
    Neem meal
    Kelp meal
    Rock phosphate
    Happy frog tomato tone
    I know I'm forgetting something

2 cups of azomite per square foot
Forgot the lime in the mix

  5. A tsp/gallon of water will do ya just fine and one application should hold ya. Not a lot of Mg is needed.

I use dolomite lime in my initial mix just for the Mg. When I re-amend I use calcitic lime (no Mg), since there is usually enough Mg left over from the dolo. My mix usually lasts 3-4 years, so lime gets added every now and then.

Unless you live fairly near the west coast and can get it locally, ignore oyster shell flour. Shipping is 3-4x the cost of the product and calcitic lime (Penningtons Fast Acting in my area), is available at Lowes or HD. The two are pretty much identical in composition and results. Or, spend the $$$ and find out for yourself, your call.

    Good luck with the grow.

You absolutely sure you are needing that?
With neem meal and the other ingredients you have i'm not sure you'd have a deficiency... You sure you aren't feeding too much?
tomato tone I think will have some in it, and I know that neem does as well.
If you are certain you could try a light molasses tea.
Honestly though, more often than not, the "cal/mag" thing isn't a prob for organic growers..

  7. My plants were looking better than they ever have before since I switched over to organic this in September. I started slacking on my molasses teas and that I'm sure is where the problem lies. I'm not going to add the lime in just gonna get on a rigorous tea schedule and I'm confident my girls will improve. I did a kelp tea Saturday and I've seen big jumps in trichome production so I'm not gonna change anything. Gonna stick with what got me to that point. Thanks for the help

  8. What's a molasses tea?

    Solo

  9. probably just dissolved molasses in water i'd guess. Some use it for a quick dosage of potassium and an organic alternative to cal/mag.
Personally I love molasses but as a nutrient I have experienced it can easily lead to problems, I use molasses only for my AACT.
Good stuff though BSM is a must have for organic farmers in my opinion.

  10. I do half a cup vermicompost in 2 gals of waters and a Tablespoon of molasses let if brew for 36 and water my plants with that

  12. ProMix already comes with a shot of lime. It's already pH balanced. You don't need to add anything.

I highly doubt that... But good luck.

  14. Oh no jerry now I'm nervous again. I was thinking because I went 5 weeks with water only my plants were in need of an extra boost am I wrong? When I say molasses teas I was taking more teas in general

  15. "Teas" are by no means mandatory with a fertile living soil.

It has magnesium potassium calcium other minerals and it helps with the uptake of minerals. It helps feed the microorganisms in the soil. They love sugar. It has to be black strap or unsulphured molasses like Grandmas Molasses. You can ad 1 tablespoon per gallon of water with a feed or add it to some compost tea and bubble it. You can bubble it with kelp that's a good tea. Teas are to feed your soil. Some help with deficiencies and some are like steroids for the plant aka Fulvic Acid. It is super concentrated compost and helps the plant take in the nutrients so you would put a corn SST or a barley SST with it and you can see the results. Teas are awsome but not necessarily needed with organic soil. If you have good soil you don't have to use it. I have some of the best soil and I still use teas. it is whatever works for your situation. I know someone who does teas too but does different ones and a different way. It dosent matter. You don't want to give teas all the time use sparingly. Hope that helps.

I would do an alfalfa tea or a kelp tea or a molasses tea with or without kelp. Then if you have neem cake you can make one of those too. It is a good past control on top of having great nutrients.
Edit: you should give a tea with the correct nutrients from the tea. You don't want alot of nitrogen when in bloom and vice versa.

  18. I haven't had one Cal/mag problem and I'm a month away from harvest Mabey a week more.

  19. ^^^^^ - What GiMIK said. It's rare that I use any teas anymore. I simply don't find it necessary, and for the most part, redundant.
