Help a broke toker Cheap furniture ideas/inspiration

    I'm a college student and a first-time renter. I own very little furniture, just a few chairs mainly. I need cheap ways to store my clothing, as well as a desk/table. Looking for inspiration from any of you guys, what have you done for simple, cheap/free, durable shelves and such?

    I'm also looking for on-the-cheap interior decorations. Lighting, decorations, etc. Show me your college dorm rooms, loft apartments, frat houses, or wherever you crashed out as a transient punk kid like me  :smoke:

    check craigslist and your local goodwill/salvation army/second hand store for desks and such.

    Telephone wire spools are great
    zip tie milk crates together
    Fuck it bro just go curb surfing you'll find all kinds of furniture in some neighborhoods

    Yard sales will have nice dressers that aren't from ikea.
    I like the foot stools that open up for storage.
    When I was broke, i bought cheap furniture, NEVER again.
    Buy good shit, or don't buy at all.

    Any idea how to get hold of those wire spools? they're hella cool, I want two of those chairs! or maybe make two of them together into a love seat thing.

    Cable companies would be a good start. Also Craigslist.

    Check out any consignment or auction houses near you. They usually have some furniture on the cheap. Sometimes you can find something really nice that someone else wants to just get out of their house.

    I'd say make a small round table or something that looks authentic. No one will buy a wooden chair because you could get one at the store that's alot easier cheaper and way more comfortable. Try make something that you can't buy or that is hard to find / expensive
