Would you smoke with your kids once theyre adults?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Messiah Decoy, Jan 18, 2015.

  1. For those of you who currently have kids and those who haven't had any yet.

If you had kids would you smoke with them once they became adults?

    Why or why not?

  2. I'm 19 ...no kids. However if I had a kid i would smoke with them when I feel they are the appropriate age. When I do have family and kids I will not hide my smoking from them and I'd rather have them do the same and smoke in my house rather then out somewhere to get caught.

  3. I have a 3 year old. it would completely depend on his maturity level more than age. He will see me medicating at some point and realize that it benefits me. If he wants to try it I'd rather him try the old man's rather than some bum off the streets nug.

  4. No. And I don't want to come off as judgmental to those who would; to each his/her own when it comes to parenting, so long as nothing abusive is happening. I just feel like it's crossing a weird awkward line. But then again, although I know both my parents smoked when they were younger, they've made it clear that it's NEVER OKAY for me to smoke. Obviously that advice didn't work   ... but it did give me the sense that it's not really appropriate to do illegal activities with your children. Now, if by the time I actually have 18+ year old kids and green is decriminalized/legal in my state, I wouldn't have a big problem with them smoking. I just wouldn't wanna get my kid involved in something that could get them arrested at some point.

But I don't plan on stopping, except for time periods when I'm eventually pregnant. Once my kids are fully adults, I have no problem letting them know that I still smoke. I just don't (yet) have the desire to get baked with my (unborn) children. lol

  5. I don't have kids but yeah, I would have no issues smoking with them once they are adults. If I did then that would make me a total hypocrite! I love weed and I think it is one of the greatest things on the face of the Earth so denying that to my kids once they have reached a mature age would make absolutely no sense.

  6. I had this kind of talk with one of my friends. I don't have any kids but I feel as the years progress and we all work together towards legalizing marijuana, it will become more common and possibly a norm. I'm sure some of you asked your parents asked your parents if you could have a sip of their beer, right? It will be just like that but giving your child(given he or she is mature enough) a puff out of a joint.

  7. I smoke with some of my friends parents which is pretty sick. Only wish my parents were casj with the idea of smokin a J and havin a good ole chat.

If i was to ever have kids i would definitely smoke up with them  :smoke:

  8. I keep waiting for my dad to come around, man, I seriously think we'd really bond better than we ever have.

  9. No, that's not what a parents job is. Shits weird as fuck imo

  10. If the kid makes the decision on his own

  11. I think there's a difference between being okay with your kids smoking vs. actively blazing with them. Maybe it's just my personal background, but smoking with my parents or my kids seems whacked. I'd rather my kids go smoke with friends their own age. I can't imagine smoking with teens would be fun or cool for me in my 40s.

  12. My girlfriends mom smokes with us. I also pay her in weed to do things for us.

  13. Oh hell yeah! I've got a daughter who's almost three, but I can't wait till she's older so I can have someone fun to puff down with. (She'll need to smoke too b/c her maternal family is dysfunctional as fugggg)

I think it depends on how your kids view you.

My mother is a church lady and teacher so I always viewed her as my lighthouse when things get crazy. It would be awkward smoking something mildly psychedelic with her. Even drinking a beer with her feels weird.

My father, on the other hand, is a druggie and street philosopher. Smoking a jay with him would feel perfectly natural.

  15. I would rather my kid smoke at home SAFLEY with me and get his weed from me SAFLEY, then pick up from a randommer and smoke on a street corner or the local park like I used too.

    Chef.

Grades and attendance are what I care about. Thats where I fucked up I started smoking everday, skipping class multiple times a week. If hes living with me its eduaction+work or if hes not in school he will be working. Im not sure exactly how id handle it right now but instead of giving me rent money and shit he'd need to be able to prove hes saving and/or investing his money properly. Hes bot gonna live in my place rent free and then spend half his earnings on weed ya know what I mean? Id beat that lil niggas ass.

But yeah id smoke with him when I believe hes got his head on straight, mature, and responsible.

  17. Nope. Because I won't let my kids smoke.

When their 18 they can choose to do drugs and move out or they can still stay and not do drugs.

I love drugs myself and I'll always do them throughout my life, I'll never willingly let my kids blast off into the 5th dimension

  18. Yes I will, but I don't agree with underage use (under 18).
I'd rather they be home with me, as said by chef, getting safe product from me, then out in the park or wherever. I've smoked with my parents, grandparents, other people's family, etc, so it wouldn't be a big thing to smoke with my kids. Hell it'd be tradition!

  19. 18+ and I'm cool with it. Otherwise I don't want to know.

  20. When they turn 18 I probably would smoke with them.. If they wanted to smoke before then, I would let them, but they wouldn't know I was letting them. Like, if I found out I would just act like I didn't know (if they were mature enough).. I wouldn't want them to think I'm their friend rather than their dad. They only get one authoritative father figure in their life, they can have many friends..
