Hey GC community! This micro grow was started on 12/25/14 and tomorrow begins the infamous 3rd week of 12/12 from seed. I had originally started from 8 bag seeds and I'm now down to 5 survivors. As of today (1/14/15) 3 of the 5 survivors showed pre-flower! Such a relief after all of this anxiety with the unknown of bagseeds but we've made it, no over-waters now! Oh and the space they are located is the empty space of a computer desk where the chair is normally at (20"w X 16"d X 26"h). 2700k spectrum CFLs 4 of them, 23w each. 1 active intake, 1 passive intake/exhaust(whatever's clever😜), and 1 large active exhaust. And my reflector is the #1 no-no.. aluminum foil.. But I've kept close monitor on temps and burns, so far no alarm. Now to show y'all my hella sweet progress 😜 ..ps the three ladies are the beauties up front near the most fresh air :bongin:

My active exhaust is the black fan, it blows cool fresh air it receives outside the cab from the active red intake in front. The exhaust works by blowing air at the wall and reflecting upward at the empty drawer above it that has been relieved to let exhaust flow through it and out. Surprisingly works fabulous as just being meant to move air around inside the cab!

  2. Looking good but it looks like you have quite a bit more space why not let them veg for a while next time and get more yield? Hard to get much from 12/12 from seed no matter how good they are taken care of.

  3. Hey final824, you have a really good point because I do have quite a bit of space that could be used better.. My whole objective with the 12/12 from seed was to cut time, because my vision was to have my first harvest before 4/20 leaving time to dry & cure. I've already got 5 more seeds pulled out of my seed container to be germed and vegged for my next go. I tried to make sure every seed looked different from the next to ensure some variety ..I hope haha.

  4. Probably could have let them veg for 2 or 3 weeks and still had plenty of time to have them for 420. But it's all good. Looks good though. Next time will always be better. I'm on my first grow and already planning changes to my cab and different things I will change next time.

Is this your first grow? Because they look really damn good like someone who has had some experience. One other thing that might be beneficial is covering those cups with something dark because when the roots reach the sides of the cup the light might damage them.

  6. Hey splat41, glad to see you came by and checked it out! Yeahhh you have a good point, I could have gotten at least a week or two of good vegging in and still had time for a full flowering cycle.. But intuition was telling me to leave yourself extra time just in case development of buds were slow from CFLs. Thank you! Yours is looking pretty good too! Pistils are such a tease to look at, I want budsites already hahaha. Exactly! It's all about learning from experience!

  7. Well... This is my first grow that wasn't an experiment lol.. I popped a couple seeds last year to see what the difficulty is and to see if I could create some leaves. I definitely created leaves and lots of LST but no bud because of no timer and lack of knowledge at the time. After that grow failed from root rot ...smh.. I did a lot more reading and prepping before going into this one. Now that's something I wasn't aware of with the roots and the light, maybe that's why my waterings seem to hurt them more than help.. Does light on the root area assist in root rotting?? Thank you for the support, final824!

  8. Im not 100% sure why the light is harmful to the roots but ive seen it said many times and it makes since, in nature the roots are never exposed to sunlight. As for the watering are they drooping after being watered or something else? If there drooping its most likely being over watered

  9. That actually made great sense! And I could have over watered.. I seem to be a knack for it lol. I fixed the clear cups though! I grabbed a black plastic bag and cut to fit it between the original cup and a secondary cup

  12. All three of my ladies are starting their second week of flowering! Can you say pistils go boom?!? Haha! And since I know I'm going to have to start the cycle again I figured I'd make myself a veg cab, which came out better than I expected! Annnd today is the day I planted 12 random seeds to put it to use! Seeds had a long enough tap root after 36hrs.

  13. Hey looks real nice was wondering if you had holes on the bottom of the cups? The holes allow excess water to drain which will help with over watering and will prevent water from sitting on your roots (may be where the root rot came from?) just thought I would throw that out there haha. Good luck with your grow

  14. Hey thank you! I do have a couple of holes in the bottoms of the cups but you might have brought up a valid point, what if I don't have enough holes, or they aren't large enough? This passed my mind all the way till now! ..And because of that I kinda decided to go with bigger pots, once they wake up, thinking they were root bounded.. Shouldn't I go with bigger pots anyhow since they are starting the 2nd week of flowering and the explosion has yet to happen?

  15. I think that was one of my problems in my grow also. Not enough drainage in the solo cups. I only drilled 3 or 4 1/8 inch holes. After the fact I poked a bunch of holes with my knife and they seemed much better.

  16. I wish I would have been suggested this brilliant idea a week ago lol 😂 now I'm just gonna transplant to bigger pots, I think they're like 1/2 gallon but definitely not a full gallon. So hopefully I get more size since I've got 8 weeks or so more of flowering

My ladies were moved into bigger clay pots this morning, I think they're half gallon or less but definitely much bigger than the solo cup haha 😜 but as I was wondering what strains I might have I started looking through old texts from the guy I got the seeds from and the list is; Master Kush, Mendo Purp, Jack Herrer, and White Chocolate. Atleast that's what I'm told haha 👍 Two of them have the profile of MK ...I'm excited ☺️

Looks good to me. Any guesses on what yield will be?

  19. Well man.... I haven't the slightest clue! lol but I'd say conservatively an ounce or half an ounce since I'm only running 162 actual watts. Of course I'd love more but I'd rather not get my hopes too high lol. Tomorrow I should have some seedling shots since some little heads are looking close to peaking from the soil.
