confused about led for veg only

  1. i've vegged plants for several years - i know cfl's work great for the veg period but i'm just tired of adjusting them and also the heat they give off.

i was thinking California LW 100 and sent a message stating it would be for veg only. they replied that the Solarstorm 110 is not a stand alone unit and i would need to 220.

    wouldn't a 110w be okay for veg? i'm confused.

  2. Hey,

I got the same reply from them when I was looking for a light, but me it was for the full cycle not only vegging. I ended up gettin the 200 full cycle and it is great. My friend has the 220W Veg Master and uses it in flower also with great results.

I'm pretty sure the 110 Veg Master would be a great veg plant. The only reason I could think of why they say it is a supplement light only is because of the low power of footprint. You probably won't be able to grow 10 plants Under it, but for a couple of plants I would try it out! :p

You have a 90 money back guarantee anyway :p

  3. I have the 220 watt full cycle. I love it it feels like the heat literally passes through your hand. The penetration is unreal on clw. Just the only bad thing is price. I probably will end up getting the 440w or 880w they have veg and flower switches.

Cree and others make excellent LED spot light bulbs for both veg and/or flower  You can find them at Lowes/HD

Are you guys really having success with that low a wattage on led!? That is fuckin awesome if you are. Been growing for decades and have always either grown outside or jumped straight into 650 plus hps....never even considered that low a wattage. Is the end result pretty good? I'm currently using leds but mine are all over 400 watts with one at 700...if I could grow out a plant using 200 I'd be over the fucking moon...the savings...

  7. For veg I am using these all blue Advanced LED EX-VEG 200's and 2 of them is rocking my 2.5'x5'x7' tent at only 1/2 wattage each... so 200w total draw and they are growing extremely fast. Very bright and high PPFD as well
