Hello I am going to attempt my first grow because I am on a VERY TIGHT budget and getting ripped quailty and price wise. I order some Auto Assassins seeds today and started making a space bucket since I am very short on space. I have some Miracle Grow organic potting soil in the shed that i plan on using along with 4 27 watt cfl per plant. Do you think my setup will work the picture the bucket is not finished lights are not in hasnt been blacked out all the way yet. Also might get a couple more "lid spacers" and put a screen in to try the SCRog method. Thanks for any info and taking the time to read my post.

  2. Touch your toes sweetheart, i'll pop your cherry!  :)  Don't use that soil.  It is crap and there are a lot better options.  It just depends on what you have to work with in your area.  You have to figure out what your budget is and then make good choices about how you spend the cash.  Seeds, soil, and lights.  Those are the main focus of your cash.  Figure where you can cut corners and where you can afford to give a little more.

  3. Well one thing was very useful is the soil is truly crap can you give me a alternative. I really have no extra cash atm as it is winter and that means downtime for me.

  4. Bio Canna Terra plus.....it contains enough inbuilt ferts to see you through the first half of your grow without needing to spend more $$$ on nutes, and the NPK ratio is way closer to what they will need too. It's not the cheapest unfortunately, so if you are totally skint I would consider making your own soil....even that would be better than using miracle grow.

There is no way I could squeeze that in the budget atm. Did small time research saw to much about fox farm ocean forest.. http ://www.walmart. com/ip/Ocean-Forest-1-qt./20594750  .I can handle this if it will be good for Auto Assassian strain. How much soil should I put in the bottom of my bucket and should i add anything extra to this soil

  6. Wal-Mart.com has a really good price for Fox Farm Ocean Jungle 2 12 quart bags for 30 bucks. Its what I'm growing in. Slso these lights from Lowe's @ $16 each. In Kansas anyway

Ok so I'm taking ffof will be fine for auto flower now how much should I use on one plant in my bucket

  10. You can get about everything you need from Wal-Mart.com grow tents, lights, nutes, soil ect. Shipped to store or home as well. Never had an issue and the price match most items.

  11. I'm a newbie myself as far as indoor goes. The Fox Farm is all I am using for a medium, except for sterile lava rock on the bottom to aid the drainage. The more lights the better especially with cfls. But be careful you can burn them if to close

  12. This was 4 days ago before transferring to the tub itself. I have 4 of the large bulbs and 4 more small on each side to reach the under growth

Okay changed my whole design just figured it was not going to be big enough. Now i cleaned out a spare closest that is white door and all so that should be good. The closet is about 8 foot tall 2 1/2 foot deep by 2 foot wide it has shelf braces figure ill use them to adjust my lights more and will help when i try to scrog. Now got some questions with auto assassin should I use 3 or 5 gallon bucket. Since it is auto and doesnt need light to be switch from 6500k to 2700k what degree should I use and would 18/4 be the best light schedule? I am going to be doing the cup of water to soil germination method I do not want to transplant in fear of hurting the plant with my noobieness. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Can someone answer if I should put the AA in a 3 or 5 gal pot since its a short plant. and since its an auto if 6500k or 2700k would be best for my cfls! Seems to be streching give it more watts? Also make sure its a 6500k if its lower will cause it to strech. Also please start your own thread so you can give more info about yoru grow.

My first couple of grows was with miracle grow soil, it was really not that bad. Sucks your strapped for cash because i dont know if 4 CFLs will be enough. I also used 4 CFLs in my first grow, slightly more watts then yours and i only yeilded 25g. seed was bag seed. I have northern light autos workng right now from royal queen seeds with 7 42w CFLs and 1 65w monster (300 equivalent watts)

heres a link to my current grow

also those roots are going to need space even if its 1 plant, they have crazy complex root systems. I would transplant into the 5 gallon. Just my opinion.

  20. Miracle grow sucks balls. It can burn your seedlings. Too much crap in it. Canna Terra or Fox Farms.

Invest in some PH down as well... It's like 7 bucks. Do you have a Ph meter and nutes?

Got both temps of lights? 6500 and 2700?

    Got ventilation?

Is there any other way you can get more light? The more light the better :) even if you can borrow a light from someone while you're in flower...
