Icemuds LED Overkill: 3x Advanced LED XTE 300s, Blue Dream, University Hills OG

  1.  I wanted to pull out my home made spectrometer to see what these different LED's were putting out.. Its far from a professional spectrometer, but it does help break up the light into visible bands so that you can see the spectrum like a prism would do.

So here is the XTE light as I currently am running it... VEG 100%, Bloom about 50% on the dials

  2. Well Just finished taking clones of all the plants in the flowering tent, even though I only plan on keeping the Black Cherry Cola, Blue dream and University Hills OG, I took clones of the rest just in case I change my mind or somehow see the fake GDP/Purple Urkle that is GSC express different traits or something... but otherwise they will be scrapped after this grow is over...

So you know what that means!!! Its about to be flowering time!!!

I am going to wait a few more days before the flip...but it will be very soon!

  3. Hey everyone!!!!

Well I was hoping to have some exciting news this weekend as I wanted to flip them to flowering, but I found out mid week that my company is sending me back to vegas for the week to work another trades show. So I decided I am going to wait to flip them until I get back because I fear that they will start stretching out of control and suck of water. With me not being here for about 5 days I don't want to risk it.

I am going to turn off the red channel while I am gone, as I did in the past to slow the photosynthesis down and help them not use as much water. It worked last time so hopefully they will be all good this time. I checked the humidity forecast and it seems that the humidity is going to remain the normal 50% so I won't have to worry about them being dry.

I gave them a good foliar spray tonight with some water I had bubbling with azomite and gypsum in it and a few drops of yucca extract. I added to the foliar spray some PGR and Amaze, as well as carboload, some silicon dioxide, and some micronutrients.

I didn't feed them today since they were still slightly moist from yesterday so I will wait until monday morning before I leave to give them a good drench and then they should make it through the week [IMG]

The veg tent with the all blue EX VEG lights is also looking really good, I also sprayed those plants with the foliar spray and again will wait until monday morning to water them.

Well not much else to report on but I won't be updating until friday night or saturday. I really was hoping to try to get to the cannabis cup but because of work I wasn't really able to make plans... so if I'm not beat from the long week in vegas, I am going to try to go...

    Here are today's pics [IMG]

By the way, Is anyone else having issues with Grasscity the past few days. I haven't been able to log in  and it seems like loading any pages takes extremely long... anyone?

  4. 2nd vegas trip should be less mentally stressful on you, but no matter, it's still a ton of work

Make sure you bring the girls a present

  5. Love the grow Ice! for the price it is amazing how accurate the Icemud spectrometer is. cant wait to see these in flower. this is the first set to go blue the to the flower tent yeah? I hope your having a great trip

  6. yeah this trip was definitely less stressful, and a lot more productive :) made a lot of great contacts and sales :) should be a good month for my commissions :) and when I came home, my plants were defintitely happy to see me :)

  7. Hey Brada!!!

Thanks for the compliments on the DIY spectrometer... I found it online a while back and used it when I was running HID lights to check the spectrums and then figured, why not use it with LED too :) and it does do a pretty decent job in showing the spectrums and the intensities of each one :)  its actually even better in person as my camera couldn't pick up the deep purples and deep red as well as the eye :)

this will be the first set of plants that went from the all blue EX-VEG and then to the XTE's :) so far very impressed with both of the LED's from Advanced, definitely the best panels so far that I have run :)

  8. Hey everyone!!!

I'm back, from Vegas... Long week but again did very well in sales and making contacts so very happy it was a successful week. No exciting "vegas" type stories this time....

Well I got home and my ladies looked amazing! they have grown a ton in the last week and are ready for flowering, so I took some photos before giving them a drink of some earthjuice bloom based nutrients and hitting them with a reproductive based foliar spray.

So today makes the last day of veg..... I set my timers to 12.25/11.75 flowering schedule and tomorrow will be their first day of flowering [IMG] excited!

  9. Here is the update for my mothers/veg tent featuring the all blue EX-VEG lights.

I am very impressed so far with these all blue LED's.... I have literally had to cut my plants down 4x now and they keep growing like weeds man! haha I still am only using each panel at 1/2 power for a total draw of 200w and I have to say these lights are vegging faster than any other light I have used. Definitely an amazing veg light...

  10. those plants look so healthy green man.

  11. Those light refractions are a trip! Is that Pink Floyd I hear in the bag ground?

The garden is looking super healthy. An awesome shade of green! Can't wait to see your Bloom Box jump off!

  12. Subbin up Ice! Some beautiful plants you have over here. Do you ever plan on expanding your grow area? I mean just based off what you're doing in your 2.5x5, I'd love to see the damage you'd do in bigger space.  :p

  13. Thanks PfefferGeist!!

It is a pretty cool comparison when you put them up against the spectroradiometer charts... and for using a cereal box, a cut cd and some electrical tape a cheap way to take a peek into the spectrum output of the lights.. :)

I found it on the internet, so young kid came up with the idea and won some big contest for it...

Yep, I can't wait to see how this one turns out.. I may have to supercrop the girls soon...there within the "bleaching zone". I've found that after closer than 10-12" with these lights it causes some bleaching... I think at that distance there at above 2000 micromoles :)

  14. Hey International Harvester!!!

Thank you so much for the compliments!

I have considered it many times as far as expanding, but for a lot of reasons I have held back. Eventually it is my goal to have a nice indoor and outdoor setup where I can grow not only our favorite plant, but also veggies.. I grew up with my parents garden in the midwest and there is nothing better than home grown :) Just holding back until I can hopefully put a down payment on something I can actually call home, instead of currently renting :)

  15. Well everyone!!!

Sorry I have been gone all week, I've been burned out from work this week due to a lot of catch up and new clients that I aquired at the trade show in vegas...

So today marks day 7 from the flip, and so far, not a whole lot of stretching or any signs of flowers yet...

I think I may have accidentally delayed them, because last weekend when I did the flip, I gave them a foliar feeding of bloomit which I shouldent have because so far it has always caused problems, but I decided to anyhow.. and to make matters worse I didn't dillute it enough so it actually burned the leaves on both of my sativa dominant plants (blue dream and churchberry) as well as definitely pissed off the others... so as of now they have recovered, and the leaves look healthy... I need to just get rid of that bloomit... I should label it "dammit" instead because each time you spray it your like "dammit, why did I do that" haha [IMG]

Anyhow, I think anyday I should see the flowers pop [IMG] much slower than GLR using a 18/6 schedule for veg... I will be trying the GLR with the all blue EX veg lights in the near future, but don't want to do it with my mothers... I don't know if it will work due to the main reason GLR works is due to IR and far red light. with the lack of it, I'm not sure if it will work or not.

So for my EX veg tent...things are looking amazing... I took some photos and then trimmed about 1' or more off all the plants because they were getting way too tall, and I don't need them 4' tall in veg [IMG] Then I sprayed them with just a mineral water I had brewing which was R/O water with azomite, calcium carbonate, lava rock, greensand, and humic acid... this is also the feeding that both my plants got today, just strait plain water with minerals added...

So here are the photos of the veg tent...

  16. Thanks Brada!! Loving these XTE's and the Ex Veg!

  17. Nice!!! Do you know if anyone else is using all blue in veg? I am going to search for other threads. It would be interesting to see more strains under it. I am trying to find a negative from using it but have not been able to yet. I do think if you blasted those full blast you will get tighter spacing :)

  18. Whats up Brotha!!!!! glad to see ya on GC !

  19. I haven't seen anyone else use the EX-Veg online... I am still trying to determine if I like them 100%. I love how fast they grow my plants and how little energy they use to do it, which is a huge plus...however my current plants aren't showing the high brix traits that usually i see after about week 3 of veg... so I'm wondering if it due to the lack of full spectrum... the other downside with the all blue lights is that it makes it extremely hard to view any deficiencies in the plants.

I also noticed when I put my plants in the flowering tent, it took them a while to adjust to the full spectrum almost as it shocked them... before I make a conclusion I will have to run some more plants through both, but overall for a very fast veg light the ex veg works great... still determining if the low brix levels are due to monochromatic light, or something else.
