If i had a male and female of the same strain produce low THC will thier offspring have a possible highier THC? In other words if i have an OG and it goes south can i back-breed it until its the true OG again?
It is highly unlikely, it has been tried many many times. It is better to just use a "known good" clone or seed. What do you mean "goes south"? If it is healthy now, give cuts of it to your friends as backup. If it is sick then you should cure it instead of trying to breed with it... good luck my friend!
