Leaves with light splotches on them

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Blondie2014, Jan 10, 2015.

  1. My plants are starting to develop small patches that are light or yellow brownish. JPEG attached. A bit hard to see but it's there. I couldn't get it to show well on pictures. It's not bad right now but I am afraid it will get worse. Any ideas on what this is and what to do? Thanks..

  2. Your overly worried about your babies, a "mother's" or "father's" instinct when we first cultivate. You have no issues. Weed simply does things like that.

small debris and soil get up on the leaves and burn them. Its natural. I would flush with lots of water then add bat guano.

The leaves will turn dark green when they get nitrogen and light green when there is none.

The problem is most dont know the difference between over fertilization and nutrient lockout. Get a grasp on these and you do just fine.

  4. I took some better jpegs that really shows what I am talking about. This really looks like something wrong to me. It's gotten worse and shows in these images. Any guesses what's going on?

  5. 2 strains. Labeled Girl Scout cookies and the other some type of pineapple from a known bag. Aged a month and a half. Gsc is far behind. Soil, mix of coast of Maine peat and perlite and worm castings. Nutes esposa I think it is. Added at mix time 2 months ago. Water about every 4-5 days. Light 400 watt hps. Height is foot half or two above the plants. Temp is a little cooler than I want, 65 usually. This is all I can think of right now. Had quite a bit of meds this evening. Plants seem to be ok with this, but maybe a bit slow.

  6. The nutes are plant tone. I followed directions on how much to mix. The soil was mixed and allowed to sit for several months. Things seem to be ok, despite whatever this is. Problem is it gets more and more, slowly. I suspect it will continue and begin to affect plants soon. Any help is appreciated.. Thanks.

  7. Looks like you splashed nutrient solution on the leaf.

  8. I pre mixed the nutes, and only use plain water. Does kind of look like splash burn but not possible. I am guessing nute lockout due to ph issue. Just a guess though. Does not seem to look like any images I been looking at that show plants with problems. Not at all sure what is happening.

  9. Anyone think this looks like magnesium deficiency??? Anyone???

Well it's sad to watch my plants get worse. I got some Epsom salts and ph test strips. Water from the tap is very close to neutral. Runoff is a bit trickier, as test strips colors don't line up perfect. It's a bit low, near 6. Does not seem this should cause the issues I a seeing, but I have no other good guess at the moment. Now my plan is to foilar feed epsom salts and water with 1/4 tsp baking soda per gallon. My other thought is not enough nutes. I'll try this ph and emspom salts and see how that goes first. Then I'll add nutes if thing don't improve.

Latest images attached here. Really really would appreciate some advice.

  11. Ph is lower than you imagine ... I'd flush with three times the volume of your substrate, test to bring ph back up to normal range. Foliage feed with a complete fertilizer @ 25%.

  12. On second thought, if you don't want to flush that concoction you'll need to amend with ph up.

  13. Looks like nute lock out. Go buy some good soil(FFOF) and shake all the old soil off and wash the roots. transplant into new soil and water only every 3 days as needed. The root zone will correct itself in the new soil which has living organisms that help buffer PH so you wont ever have to worry about that.

It hates the worm castings and is letting you know. Its over fertilized and 6.0ph is right on the money in my op.

Flush and dry with pure h20
Get soil ready for cannabis like roots O 707 or FFOF
