This is my first time trying a bubble bucket. My question is since its my first time should I try a different plant first like a tomato plant or something just so I know what I'm doing cause I've read a lot on this bucket but the whole nutrients thing is kinda confusing. If anybody has any good links on using nutrients please let me know. I've read a lot on here but I'm still confused. Thanks for any help you guys give.
This will answer all your nutrient questions http://forum.grasscity.com/hydroponic-growing/1198022-how-determine-what-your-plants-preferred-nutrient-strength.html .
When you drill the holes, have the drill set to a low speed and take your time. I ruined the first bucket by drilling to fast and the hole was not a perfect circle. Didn't pass the leak test
Here is a black plastic RUB with a lid. 6 holes drilled with net pots inserted. It doesn't matter if these holes leak because they are above the waterline. Another 2 holes are drilled in the lid for the air lines, again, these are above the waterline so no risk of leaks
