Flushing before harvest

Discussion in 'Harvesting and Processing Marijuana' started by youngrebel, Jan 8, 2015.

  1. Okay I have three bubblelicious plants week 7 of flower. I do not have 2 weeks time to flush. So is there anyway I can flash flush or something? Lol I've mildly been using general hydroponics florabloom.

  2. looks to me you got plenty of time for a thorough flush

have you checked trichs? because that's the only surefire way to determine optimal harvest time

  3. I'm saying I have to cut them down in a week. I guess I'll just flush as much as I can

  4. I've been doing this for a while now, I use techna flora nutes and I usually let them go till the 9th or10th week just because it takes 2 weeks to even pre-flower once you do put them into 12-12 but I flush each plant with 2 to 3 gallons of pH'd water around 6.0 for 2 days before chopping. Never had a problem with bad taste or anything. I've even done a grow without flushing at all and didn't notice any bad taste or smell. So it's really personal preference. Most growers will tell you to flush, so flush. It can't hurt. And you really don't have to flush the plants throughout the day, just pour the water into the plants bucket, let it drain and dump the drained water, don't let the plant sit in this drained water you're flushing with or they'll suck it back up. And that kinda defeats the purpose of flushing. Hope this helps

  5. Ive came under the assumption, and I guess go by this rule now.. if your indoor or outdoor usi g nutrients its recommended to flush, but if its all organic with no nutrients added besides whats in the soil you dont need to flush

  6. flush is over rated, dry and cure properly.

Organic guys who believe everyone else should flush ought to consider how active their soil is. you can easily be generating much more nitrogen than i am adding. nitrogen is nitrogen I know the saline content of mine, most organic growers have no idea about the salinity of their alchemy.

the key difference in the nutrients used by enhanced growers is we can deliver their nutrients to the roots faster, for immediate use, and in more precise measurements. many enhanced growers have a tendency to over fertilize but the way the plants process the nutrients through ions, flushing should be used to cure saline problems, a very significant organic issue as well.
