Bought some and used all but maybe a good 6-7 inches of it. I don't really see much of a difference except there's no big butane taste and you can take smaller hits using it. Other than that it burns up too quick and has a weird burning smell.
If your smoking a joint or blunt then its stupid. But the point is that its healthier than using a lighter. Your not inhaling lighter fluid this way. Only difference. Look at your collection of empty lighters..i find it sort of gross that all that lighter fluid has been inhaled. If your really into lung health then its a good investment. But if your like that you may as well just vape instead. But whatever lol
I find it much more enjoyable for using with my pipe. ss said, you are avoiding inhaling the lighter fluid, it's healthier. I also find I have better control over how I light my bowl when using hemp wick. I prefer it overall
For me it's a huge waste of time. I bought 3 rolls of it, used less than a foot and three it away. You can use bics where there isn't too much gas being inhaled, just keep flame above the bowl and let the heat ignite the bowl, not the actual flame.
I think its a waste of time. Hits may taste slightly better, but its a pain in the ass trying to keep it lit/pass it/put it out between hits.
I use it and don't mind it, something you get use to after a bit. Bowl doesn't taste nearly as bad the last few hits when using the wick. Off topic here but if you own a bong OP you should check out Rez Block, shit works wonders for keeping them clean.
I dont use it cause I dont care that much about lighter fluid. however as other guys stated the goal is if you wanna be healthier lighting a bowl or bong then you'll avoid nasty lighter fluid and instead just have natural hemp combustion
Even if there were studies showing that inhaling wax from a wick is safer than inhaling butane, I'd still use lighters for convenience.
i love hemp wick i buy mine from humbolt hemp wick you gotta buy a big roll for it being worth wild and keep a candle around so its not great for on the go but it improves the taste a ton in my opinion i feel like money wise i have saved a bit going with hemp wick instead of lighters but i havnt sat down and done the math both are cheep as fuck its really just preference
suuuuucchh a fan of hempwick right herr. use that exclusively to light my bowls at home or when i have my lighter (keep it wrapped around), i try to vape 90% of the time now but i was gone for a week recently and didn't think to bring a lighter and wasnt gonna lug the vape with me, smoked with a bic lighter and its was kinda gross. course not enough to not want to smoke but man, just use it for like 2 weeks then use a a bic and tell me that taste isnt a bit of a turn off..
OMG I love me some hemp wick as well. I've tried a whole bunch of kinds but Bee Lasso is by far my favorite, so clean tasting, almost kinda sweet. I bought a shirt from 'em and everything.
beeline user here though i make my own, i cant seem to burn without it. yes it goes out and it can smell, but its something now that has to be present for me, at least. my slides and pipes' resin is less sticky and goopy also, easier to clean.
I use hemp wick when possible but only for my bong. Hemp wick makes cornering bowls really easy. You can control just exactly what gets lit with it.
Hemp wick is the healthier, better tasting, cheaper way to go. You can find good hemp wick for really cheap, I got 250 feet for like 15 dollars and it's lasted me like half a year so far. Sooooo much cheaper than buying lighters if you have a few candles around. I just use a big candle in a jar to light my wick and have been saving a lot of money on lighters. Just go buy some wick and use it to smoke for a while. After that just try smoking a bowl with a lighter and you'll really notice the difference.
Hemp wick makes an outstanding differences in categories from taste, healthiness, how much THC you get out of your bud and even how dirty your bong gets and how long your high lasts. The taste is better simply because you are not inhaling butane. Its healthier because it burns at a lower temperature, THC vapes at around 300-380 degrees after 400 degrees fahrenheit is reached THC is lost(1/3 of it) and benzene as well as carbon and ash forms which are carcinogens and can cause cancer. Lighters burn at about 3590 fahrenheit. Now saying that Hemp wick burns at a significantly lower temp ensuring maximum THC being inhaled and less ash which not only keeps your lungs cleaner but your water-pipe as well. This low temp burn also results in a longer high because the rush of butane is what your super heady feeling is that diminishes quickly, the loss of THC also causes this effect. An even better way to get higher and have a better tasting longer lasting high is to use glass heated with a torch. Glass nails work great for gravity bongs to water-pipes, you can also use rods they sell called heat rods personally I just broke a jar and use pieces with pliers. The small propane tanks don't run too much at a hard ware store and it gets me high for about twice as long. Also make sure to not light the weed when the glass is red hot, it is too hot like a lighter, wait about 3 seconds for it to cool then go for it and it you want to vape out of your pipe let it cool for around 4-5 seconds. Not sure if anyone does this but what I do is take my water-pipe and get a 9mm socket (works great for 14.4mm down stem)put a screen in fill it up with herb put it in my pipe like the slide and slowly suck in while lighting with the glass until all of the herb is milked then clear it fast. 2-3 get me in the clouds for around 4-5 hours.
