Stomach, head hurts during/after lifting

  1. Well guys, I've been lifting strong for over four years now. I've gotten in really nice shape, sans a tiny beer belly. (I love beer. It happens.) Anyway, I've always had a lot of energy and never got sore after workouts ...until recently.

I've been getting random headaches while at the gym the past couple months, just out of nowhere. I get light headed and have to chill out for a second. Then, when I'm done lifting my stomach gets sharp pains and usually lasts the rest of the day/night.

It's strange because this has never happened before and I'm worried I may have a possible hernia. The headaches ...I really have no explanation for those besides possibly the lack of food I eat at my 9-5 job (usually a bottle of water, Nutrition bar and an apple).

Anyone have similar issues? I will probably schedule a physical exam soon but would like input prior to that. TIA.

  2. Could be something serious but you might just be dehydrated. If I don't drink at least 6 cups of water before I work out I get the same things. See what the real doctor says though. I'm gonna be a pharmacist, we just give ya pills and shit.

  3. yeah dude go get checked out, better to be safe than sorry

  4. Yeah, might as well. It's kind of fucked up though  :smoking:

  5. Any update?

  6.
Scheduled a physical, gotta wait til March 23! Dude is booked I guess...

I've been feeling better lately. Joined a new gym and started a modified Navy Seal workout. Also been swimming laps, going in the spa and sauna and kind of releasing these toxins. Hopefully it continues into the spring.

  7. Dang doctors sure do seem to make us wait for a very, very short visit (they seem to rush in and out). I hope you continue to feel better in the meantime though.

I'm also jealous you get to swim! The cheapest place to swim within 25 miles of me is still $90/month, and it's not worth the drive for a crowded pool (at least the lap area).

  8. I pay $30 per month lol. LA fitness bro.

  9. Oh dang, if it's only $30 a month here I'd sign up for the swimming alone! If I get this new job I will definitely sign up seeing as it's on the path to work, justifying the 20+ mile drive to it.

Yeah man, i never used to swim recreationally but now I'm hitting the pool, the sauna and all that. The sauna helps get all the toxins out, it's awesome.

Are you a pseudoscientist, perchance? And I feel ya' on the post lift aches...I've been lifting for two years and for the most part I've had zero real aches, but lately I've been getting wicked tennis elbow following arm days. I may have to curtail my lifting to some extent, which I really do not want!

Why do you believe I'm a pseudo scientist? (I'm not.)

When you mention toxins, what toxins are you referring to specifically?

  14. Booze and bad shit I consume

  15. Exertion Headache?

  16. Been better lately
