Wish I had a Mars2 400, or maybe 700 to separate the big from the little and lower the 1200 onto the big and have the weaker mars for the younger plants. Im running 1 Mars2 1200 right now and have another one sitting here in the box brand new waiting to go but I do not want to hit the young ones with that much light again, I want to see them a little bigger this time around.
Another thing I will do before starting anymore is to switch down to 4" net pot lids from the 6" ones I am currently using.
Day 41, 9pm Feeding day. You better keep a close eye on those copper tubes. Eventually they are going to start leaching into your nutes, and you will have a toxicity issue. If our favorite plants liked an alkaline mix, you might be golden. However, not so with the acidic soup. I would replace with stainless ASAP Other than that, looks good.
I have one plant that is getting close to harvest, I dont swap the res water unless there is a problem, I just keep adding to it. I will take a water sample to get tested from a bucket as soon as I harvest something and see how much of what is in there. I usually dont go under 5.7 and tap is 6.5ish here. Its not that far off from whats been flowing through the copper pipes in the walls for the last 30 years. But I was thinking of going full RDWC next so those pipes would be coming out. If I had all 10 or 12 going with full plants it would be a pain to get to those back ones now to check levels and ph ppms. But I want to run all one strain, clones when I do that. Too many differences with what I am doing now for an RDWC. Plants at different level of growth, some old, some young, some flower, some preflower, some veg. Couldnt feed them all the same strength.
Next time you clean one of the buckets, slide a tube through the grommets a little. Feel for a ridge developing where the grommet was sealing. If you are getting a ridge, that tells you the nutes are eating away at the copper. Hopefully it all works out.
This may actually be more of an issue than I thought. The deficiencies I am seeing look zink, manganese, and maybe N. I dont want to hit them with too much N in flower but will give the effected some and see what happens. As for the other two, I have been reading and see that copper is a zink and manganese nutrient antagonism so the extra copper may be effecting the uptake of those.
Also after firing up that second Mars2 1200 in the 4x8 tent, temps can no longer be controlled easily. even with the 440cfm pulling out at 440cfm the coolest I can get in there is about 85f. the tent is vented out rooms away, pulling in air from the room the tent is in at about 75f. Making res temps much harder to handle as well.
