The truly dank buds are gone

  1. Not sure what to use for title. Basically want to comment and hear from others about my situation. I have been smoking for years. All kinds good and bad. But what seems to be of norm around where I live I feel is not TRUE dank. There was a period of about 6 months in my life where I had the most amazing hookup I have ever had. Every time he would have something new. And every time it was the most amazing, most potent smelling, and tasting bud I have ever had. The smells were just overwhelming and the tastes just as much. THIS is the kind of bud I want to grow for myself. Something people stop and ask how the hell something could be so good. Most of whats going around these days tastes good don't get me wrong. But not like this. Why did the buds he have taste and smell like that? And how does one achieve getting the same results. I don't want to make something that's okay. I want to do all I can to make it the best smoke I can. Please I know someone knows why this is and how to achieve it.

  2. You answered your own question with the cure thread you started. Get a good cure and the buds will be the darkest you've had.

  3. He is 100% correct. I cure my buds for at least 90 days and prefer 6 months. Also, there are many growers out there that grow strains that have great bag appeal. Typically but not always, colorful bud is weaker. I am also a believer that if you change up your strains monthly, you will have a much better high.

  4. So it truly is the cure? Man it makes me sad that everyone doesn't do it properly and say it's medical.

  5. Lol. thanks for the laugh

  6. I think that 80% of what makes good weed is is a combination of proper curing and genetics....

  7. my nerds, urkle x sour diesel had deep purple chunks and was complimented by a berry and cream flavor/scent profile. still very potent. pungent scent. had a guy, while in the drive thru atcarls jr smell the fresh bowl in my cup holder. smelled the stash from the front counter and had to comment. i threw him a bud and told him to murder my burger with bacon. didnt dissapoint. ive got several stories like this and made many contacts because of the buds profiles. my advice to op is find the right genetics. grow organic, and perfect the dry and cure process. you can keep buds in jars and they will continue to develop ad long as their rh stay in the propper range. when they get to low it will no longer develop. i understand the principal but it goes to fast. i go by feel/look. not so much science here on my part. if getting dryer, live in a desert region and things dry quickly, I add a fresh fan leaf to my jar to raise moisture level. My process from cut to smoke is 4 weeks or more. some i have to hold onto for my own needs.
