crossing question

  1. So I'm pretty new to this whole growing stuff...

I have a few strains I've got as clones and then I've had some seeds

Well the seeds are old but have been stored in a dark cool place at all times...

But anyways I have strains from clone are

    Wonder woman
    Black jack
    Strawberry cough
    Willie wonder (aka Williams wonder)

And then seed is big bud well I tried to germ 4 of the seeds (had 12 total) well only one popped and I've got it to the flower stage and it turns up male I've already segregated it from my flower room...

So here is my question if I take the male big bud and let it pollinate one of the other strains I have what might the outcome be??

Worth the cross or better off just getting rid of the male?

    Thanks for any advise!

  2. You will have an F1 cross.  They will all be relatively uniform.  If you pick two of those to cross you get an F2. These will not be uniform and will express any number of characteristics.  If you select parents that express the generic traits you wish to keep and you breed well once you get to around an F10 you will find they will come out pretty stable and you have a new strain

Back crossing with a parent can speed things up if you have the traits you want already
