5 gal or 7 gal smart pots in 5x5 gorilla tent?

  1. What would you guys recommend? 5 gal or 7 gal? I plan on vegging for about 60 days. The height is 7'11 in the tent so I'll have extra height to work with. Also I can only have a maximum of 5 plants because here in Canada six plants and up will land you In jail for a minimum of six months. Strains will mostly be Indica dominate with a couple on the sativa side.

  2. 5 gallon. easier to move around. How is your floor space with each size pot, can you still work in the tent? With 5 gallon pots you will grow a years worth. As you add more sources of humidity (larger pots) make sure you leave room to dehumidify the space as well.

If you mix the sativa with the indies how will you get light to the smaller plants?

  3. Good point, I don't want to overcomplicate things yet as this will be my first grow so I'll just grow one strain at a time only. The strain is called Gods blue cheese. It's a cross between God bud, Blueberry and Cheese, all of which are heavy indica. I don't have the tent yet so I couldn't tell you how much space I will have to work around. So do you think five, 5 Gal smart pots would fit in that space decently or should I only have 4 plants?

  5. What is the floor space of the tent? You could hit the 4 corners and one in the center or stagger them 3 in the rear and two in the front.

  6. 5 gallons.
That's a 12 inch diameter, 12 inches tall. Depending on how well you handle the plants, you could reasonably fit 9 plants in a 5 by 5, if you don't mind crowding the shit out of them and keeping them small. In 7 gallons, you have no possibility of safely getting more than 5 in there.

Though truthfully, I've run 7 mediums in a 4 by 4 with no ill effects, in a 3 two 3 offset pattern...but I had to rotate the plants a couple times a day to avoid chocking them, and tying them off to the upper frame so they didn't collapse themselves.

  7. I can only have a maximum of 5 plants in my tent because of the laws here in Canada. if I could fit 5 plants in 7 gal smart pots that would be awesome but I don't know if I'll have enough space in the 5x5 tent what do you think?

  8. Dimensions: 5'x5'x7'11

  9. I've run four 5-gal smart pots in a 4x2 tent.

so I assume you could fit 10 in a 5x5 tent.

if you can only have 5 plants you might as well make them monsters. you have the room for it...

  10. Yeah exactly. If you could fit 4 in 5-gal smart pots than I definitely would be above my limit of 5 in a 5x5 if I were too use 5 gals.

  11. would you recommend 7 gal or 10 gal? I'm thinking 10 gal might be a little too big. By the way the strain i will be using is a heavy Indica so that would make it more bushier.
5 plants in 7 gal or perhaps 4 plants in 10 gal pots. Thanks to everyone that is replying to this thread I appreciate it. This will be my first grow.

  12. the biggest I've used is 5 gallon so I don't know how much bigger you can go.

if it were me i would probably use 7 gallon and see how it goes.

  13. You do...easily.

Like I said, I had to work to do it, but I ran 7 in a 4 by 4, once, and had no issues with the plants that weren't my own fault.

  14. I have 6 in 7 gallon fabric pots in my 5x5 and have plenty of room could probably have 9 but want her to have room to Bush out
