I have 3 plants growing right now in smart pots with FFOF soil. They are about a week into flower. 2 of the plants are in small runoff trays with high walls that make it a tight fit, denying the roots an "air prune", I believe. This is what it looks like on the 2 plants that didn't get air to the bottom of the pot: Will it work itself out with exposure to air or do I need to cut the exposed roots?
Eh, I don't like using fabric pots flat against the plastic saucer. Always have a layer of perlite or hydroton between the pot and saucer, that prevents the roots from sitting in their own runoff and allows the roots to be air pruned. This is how I use them: LINK and LINK
Wow that's a good simple solution, thanks. Do you think it will take care of itself if I keep the roots out of the runoff?
