Yellow Tips My ladies have the clap

  1. Good afternoon my fellow blades! Needing some help here on a small deficiency of some sort. I'm getting some yellow tips on all 4 of my girls. We are only in the 3rd week of flower. I'm vegging under 600 watt MH/HPS combo. My Temps are beautiful at 75 degrees and 40 percent humidity. I have no started feeding yet as they are still in the Fox Farm Ocean Forrest soil. They have been given nothing but water so I haven't really paid attention to the PH. My water is normal city water left out to evap chlorine. Plants are Wild Thailand and Green poison freebies that I got last year. Any ideas?

  3. well lets check your ph runoff so we can we can rule out any lockouts to be sure. If you really want to be sure flush them and check the ph as you do it.

your plants are looking good though. I myself would wait it out and see if it got worse.

Also, I cant tell from your pics but make sure your containers arent too small because root bound causes those problems too.

  4. Thanks Guru. I'm gonna do a flush tonight and wait to see how they react. Thanks for the respose

  5.
You're in the third week of veg' growth and haven't fed your plants anything.

What is it that you think you're going to flush from the soil?

There's nothing wrong with your plants.  Start fucking with them trying to "fix" a slight leaf discoloration at the tips, and watch them go down hill REAL fast.  Small leaf deformities and discoloration is normal and should be expected.  As Guru' has pointed out, I wouldn't be concerned until you see it spreading or getting worse.

  6. Valid point Wak. Nothing in. Nothing out, right? I'm ok with small leaf deformities on one plant but the yellowing is on 4 plants. 2 different strains and pretty much on all leaves. I feel like it's more than a single abnormality. Obviously I'm reaching out to more experienced growers. I'll leave alone and see if anything happens. Do you think I should start feeding a little?

What sized pots are you currently in?  And the plants have been in those pots from day one?

Can you take some full plant pictures of all your plants?

  8. The plans are about 8 inches tall. They are in 1 gallon pots. I transplanted them from small seedling cups about 2 weeks ago. I feel like they should be getting good nutes from the FFOF for another week or so. I typically start feeding after 4 weeks. Never had yellowing tips before but this is my first grow on these 2 strains. Last 2 grows have been OG kush
I'll take some pics here in hour or so. Once I get off work

  10. Well, I think you've just come across some quirky plants man.  It happens.  They look very, very healthy to me.  The rest of the leaf/leaves don't seem to be expressing any kind of nute deficiency to me.  As long as their condition remains stable, I'd let it ride with just plain water for another week or two, then start with your normal feeding regiment.

  11. Hey wak.. thanks so much for the feedback man! I appreciate the help! I'll keep an update on how they look

    You're welcome, DM.

Just to be safe, are those cuts, or from seed?

  13. Those are from seed. Taking 1st round of cuttings soon.

  14.
I was just going to suggest contacting the dispensary or getting on line to the seed bank where you sourced them from to see whether or not the particular cultivars your are dealing with were considered "heavy feeders".

  15. Good question. Maybe they are eating up what look little N might be in the soil. Doesn't N deficiency start with new growth first though?

No.  N is a mobile nutrient, meaning that it can be translocated from one part of the plant to another if needed.  "Fade" at the end of flowering is a perfect example of this.  N deficiency starts at the bottom of the plant and works its way up.  But your plants don't resemble that remark...

I really do think you have some quirky plants.  For what it's worth, I never pay attention to leaf tips that look like yours. But I mix my own soil and don't use bottled nutes.  :confused_2:

At this stage of growth, there's plenty of N in the FFOF that you're using.

  17. Tip of my hat to you sir! I'll keep ya updated!

  18. I have the exact same issue with mine. Those look similar to mine as well. Great thread, I'll follow the same advice.

  19. Still having same issue... all over the plant though.
