new to edibles/questions

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by g_dan1, Dec 22, 2014.

  1. Hey everyone!
I am getting more and more ABV weed lately from my vape and I ve been thinking about making edibles. I ve never tried anything of that sort before but I ve done some research on this topic. I am currently at my aunt's and I cant use the oven. From what I found u dont need to bake ABV because THC was already activated in the vape. Technically I can just eat the ABV straight out of the vape right?

Here are some of the questions I have about edibles:
    1) how much ABV do I need to eat in order to get 4-6hrs high? (I dont really vape it till the end until its dark brown or black so Ig it must be a lil more potent than average ABV. I also vape at 350-370F)
    2) will mixing ABV with peanut butter or nutella and leaving it for 2-3days make it more potent? In that case how much weed will I need for 5hr high?
    3) is there any difference in high from ABV edibles vs regular weed edibles?

    Thanks!
P.S. I dont really care about ABV tasting nasty because i will mix it with peanut butter and nutella.

  2. Hey guys anyone has any advice for me? Help please lol

  3. I have made edibles with my vaped stems and weed before.  Typically, i think the measurement is every 4 grams of vaped is equivalent 1 gram of non vaped.  I usually take my materials, coat them in coconut oil and cover the ceramic dish on a low temp of about 200 for 25-30 minutes in the oven.  I strain the mixture through a coffee filter and then typically stir the canna-oil right in to some peanut butter or almond butter.  I never manage to save more than a few grams worth before i make it, so maybe 4 grams worth of vaped stuff goes into the mix.  I gota tell you though, one tablespoon did the trick.  Last thanksgiving was epic thanks to some homemade weed-nut-butter.,

  4. I'm not sure if you are trying to 100% hide that you are making edibles or if you just don't want to stink up your aunts house by making them there, but I have had a lot of experience making edibles outside because I have young kids and don't want to stink up my house. You can buy portable electric burners and toaster ovens to bake just about anything you want outside. I've done all kinds of cookies and brownies etc outside. If you're trying to keep on the DL, do it at night after everyone is alseep. I know that didn't exactly answer your question but I wanted to offer that info.

  5. As for your original plan and questions about potency. Just make a batch bigger than you think you need. Start out with a small bite. Wait 30 mins and eat another couple bites. Wait an hour and eat some more if you still need it. That way you can gradually find your tolerance level. Ive seen a lot of regular tokers get sick on edibles.

I recommend to start with 0.1 gram dose and slowly increase until you find your tolerance. My personal ABV limit is 1g maximum. You can sprinkle it on your food, fill caps, or just eat it raw. I personally do the extra step of making oil, but many people skip that step.

The effect can last 8 hours or more and is much different than smoking or vaping in my experience.

  7. Ok but raw weed may give you diarrea. If you can pass it through your body ok, then yeah, by all means, peanut butter. Good luck!
