What would U have done?

  1. Yesterday, the wife leaves to go shopping.
1 block away, in our 'hood, she (may have cut-off) arrived at a four way stop at the same time as a car on her left.
Anyway, the driver of the other car took offense and accelerated around her car.
The street comes to an intersection about 2 blocks away at this point.
She decides she doesn't want this 'guy' stopping or blocking her, so she then went around his car.

After driving a few blocks, she noticed that the red Mercedes is still following her.
She arrives at a red light.
The driver then gets out of his car, and very angrily begins pounding on her window!
He is filming (?) her by holding a cell phone in his other hand.
Once the light turned green, he went back to his car, but not b4 hitting the car with his fist.

The wife comes home all shook up.  She did not go shopping, sha drove back home instead.

She relates the incident to me.

I'll just get to the point now.  I'll skip a few details.  You can ask me to fill in, should you ask me to.\\

We discovered the driver of the red Mercedes was none other than a 'neighbor' that lives a block away from our house!  The same guy had came dangerously close with his car to Catherine while she stood on the curb in front of her house while speaking with the landlady that used to own the house.
We did not call the police.  (should of maybe). But I drove by when he was outside and let him know that I knew that he was the one that drove by my wife.  I let him know that he better never try that shit again.  Or Else!  Apparently a few of the neighbors had a problem with prior owner of the house.  Something to do with the house being converted into appartments..while using up more resources than single family homes, but paying the amt in property taxes.

Anyway, drive there and there he is outside washing his car.
Long story short, I yelled this guys face so loud you hear it reverberating of the houses.
I got into his face and asked him what the hell he was thinking when he 'stalked' and then confronted my wife.  I told him I was going to rip off his goddamned head.  I got pretty worked up, what with raising my fist over his head in a threatening gesture.  At this point I feel I'm safe legally so long as I don't make contact with him.

Any how they called the cops, and we called them as well when we got home.
I guess the cops took their complaint first, because when they showed up at our house, we were under the impression the were coming to speak with my wife regarding the road rage incident.  So she lets them in, and 3 of them come into the kitchen where I'm standing at the sink washing the cat's watering dish.  Instead of speaking to Catherine they begin addressing me, and not in a nice way either.

Anyways they advise us that by me going over to the neighbor's (even though he's the 'culprit) and yelling at most importantly, my holding my fist up, I was committing an assault.

I told the officer that I was not aware of that.  I figured that so long as I don't actually lay my hands on the guy, I don't have anything to worry about.  I figured there is no law against yelling at someone.

Any way they leave with me promising to keep the peace and stay away from the 'neighbor'.

Meanwhile they never addressed my wife's ordeal with this asshole.  He never got chastised for what he did.  Oh and another thing.  That moron had a how security vid cam recording the entire incident.  So of course he was on his best behavior, knowing he was on 'film' too.  The cops watched the video then came over to see the 'crazy guy'.  I wonder what they would have done if their wives were assaulted by the 'neighbor'.  I asked them that question, and they ignored me.

It sounds like your neighbour is friends with the cops that came over. Did he damage your car when he hit it? Typical coward, all big and angry against a woman then has his tail between his legs when the male spouse comes over.

One things for certain, if you're going to get an assault charge, you may as well commit the assault.

From this point on, I would make it a priority to have as little contact with that neighbor as possible. It's really best to try and avoid confrontation as much as possible in life, especially while driving.

Being a small female, I have my own personal plan regarding what to do if I'm ever followed by someone. Plan A is to drive to my parents house instead of my own, and call my dad to meet me outside with a gun when I get there. If that's not an option (dad's a work, parents are out of town, etc), plan B is to drive to the police station instead of my house. Call 911 on the way, and honk like mad when I get there.

But whatever you do, if you're being followed, don't go home. Then the crazy person knows where you live.

  4. You don't fuck with the wife, that's fighting actions. A dude insulted my wife incredibly badly a few weeks ago, I got in his face screaming, I almost hit him in the throat, he didn't call the cops though lol.

That's a fucked situation, I'd make sure your wife has some sort of weapon in her car, I'd probably install a camera, that way if it happened again there'd be evidence of his psychotic actions

  5. Thanks for your support, I appreciate it.

  6. Too bad you weren't there when the incident took place, should have taught him a valuable lesson right there.

But I personally wouldn't have gone to his house and behave in the manner in which you did, but you are definitely not to be blamed for that, that was your wife and you had to do what you had to.

Personally if i know where the guy lives I would go there and try to have a civil conversation and make sure that it never happens again and and let him know that if it does there are going to be some serious consequences (a fucking beat down). And if he call the cops on you for threatening just tell the cops that you told him that there would be consequences next time and that consequence would be to sue him or press charges on him, and they won't bother asking you anymore questions.

I'd probably snap if this happened to my girlfriend.

Good job showing restraint OP. I would have busted his arm and maybe a few of his teeth. Not without first breaking one of his headlights.

That or I would have calmly threatened his livelyhood.
Not knowing who it is and what they are potentially capable of makes threatening instead of direct physical violence a risk.

  8. Sounds like you confronted a lawyer.  Tread carefully.

  9. Slash his tires leave no evidemce

  10. Talk to an attorney...The police are fucked, you not only have the ability to press charges, they can't press charges based on assault if you never actually physically touched them.

An attorney can advise you further.

  11. I woulda sent my girl back out for groceries.

  12. Could always kidnap the guy and torture him, Obama administration style.

  13. Buy ounce of weed. Stash in neighbors garage. call cops from payphone. Tell them neighbor tried to sell your family weed.

    win

  14. Waste of weed. I couldn't leave my Mary Jane to sit in an evidence room for the rest of her days :(...slowly losing her THC

  18. I gotta say, you look exactly like one of the three cops that came over.
    Uncanny.

  19. Throw some baggies under the garage with flour in it, then call the cops saying they're known to sell coke to kids.

  20.
I did a strip tease in a police uniform once.  Almost died.  Long story.
