Questions and Concerns about locked thread

Discussion in 'General Forum Feedback' started by ccwoz, Dec 21, 2014.

  1. I posted a thread tonight about traveling with a very small amount of marijuana (I'm sure the moderators can look at the post to get a better idea).  My thread was soon locked afterwards with the reason being: discussion of dealing and drug trafficking.  Obviously my conversation is being labeled as the latter.  In my post, I mentioned an amount that would equal out to a joint or two.  Now to be considered drug trafficking, under the actual definition, doesn't the amount of drugs have to be considerable?]
    I'm seriously wondering.

Also, the ironic part too is that I was doing research on the same exact issue I was posting about before I joined this website and came across several threads from this website, that are not locked. Is this something new because as I'm going through these some are dated from 2012 and 2013.

I apologized if I offended anyone with my thread- From what I had seen on this website, I thought it would be okay to ask about this.  My apologies.

I will be deleting my account after tonight; I only joined because I wanted some feedback on the issue.  I copied and pasted a few of the thread links that I had read before I posted my entry (there's more btw).

  2. When we come across rule breaking posts or threads, or they are brought to our attention in a report, we deal with them...

Yes...there are threads on Grasscity that slip through the cracks...

We do try to do our best, but we are a small staff, and cannot always be everywhere on the boards...

Just because some threads do exist, it doesn't mean that there is a rules exemption that allows free discussion of the topic...

Talk of dealing and trafficking on the boards can only attract unneeded and unwanted attention...something I'm sure most of the members here don't desire...

The rules are what they are...they are here to help for the most part...without some sort of structure, the boards would be a chaotic free-for-all..

It's unfortunate that you just joined to talk about something that we don't allow on the forums, and have no desire to become part of our community...because it is a pretty interesting place...but the choice is yours...

I have taken care of the other threads that you pointed out...thanks... :)

  3. Thanks for your response but I am still confused about how my post could be interpreted as drug trafficking.  Just from the original post itself, it was obvious that it was for personal use.  To be considered drug trafficking, it usually has to be a considerable amount (for example, in Florida anything over 25 pounds is considered trafficking).  I just want to be clear on the reason behind this, because either the guidelines need to be rewritten (maybe include something about air travel) or all of a sudden a joint or two is considered trafficking drugs. Maybe I'm missing something.

I would like to be a part of this community but this reason above is why I'm turned off. An actual explanation why this post falls under that category would be helpful.

By the way, I hope I'm not coming off as rude- I really just want to know.

  4. You're local laws aren't considered. The literal definition of drug trafficking doesn't have anything to do with amount. Just that there are drugs, and they are being trafficked. Lol.

We do not allow talk of transportation of MJ across state lines or country borders, by airplane, or by mail...

Trafficking charges are used in cases of possession of large amounts as well, but transportation by airplane is what was the determining factor with your thread...

Asking questions in a respectable manner like you are is never considered rude...we don't mind helping people out whenever we can... :)

  6. Thanks for the clarification, might stay on a little longer now. :)

By the way-  not an FL resident (Chicago), used as an example from quick research.  Also, it's 'your' not 'you're.' lol
