Smoking weed in apartment questions

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Antonthegreat, Dec 20, 2014.

  1. Hey guys, im a college student currently living in an apartment just a few blocks away from my university. My apartment is pretty small, its a studio unit about 30 Sq. meters in size.

My main concern is the smoke detectors. My roommates and I have been busted once by the security of the building because they apparently "detected smoke" through our smoke detectors. I honestly don't think thats possible but thats why I came here.

Is there any way I can hotbox the room without alerting them with the smoke detectors? And also, if thats not possible, what are some ways to mask the smell of marijuana in the room after we smoke up?

  2. Although not 'fire friendly' and not advisable given the fact there may e a fire. Put plastic bags over the detectors and tape it up. Make sure it's sealed.

That's what I used to do, when I was at Uni. Then just smoked away! Happy as Larry!

    Peace out!

  3. Plastic bag with elastic bag.

I worked with for a company that installed fire systems and a very very small percentage of them pick up ciggy and cannabis smoke.

    Chef.

  4. Plastic bag and tape! Wouldn't hurt to open a window as well rather than hot boxing the room

  5. Take it down and take the batteries out til your done

  6. Don't hotbox in your apartment, pretty simple. Just blow the smoke out the window if possible, use a sploof or smoke buddy. And ozium.

  7. uhh... 30sqft??????

  8. Can't take down mains wired smoke alarms or the building will go into evac mode.

Only domestic housing has batterie operated smoke alarms, by law they have to be mains powered for hotels, shopping centres etc.

    Chef.

  9. People still listen to security guards?

  10. whos a security guard?

    Chef.

  11. In paragraph #2, op's only doing this because he got busted by a part-timer.

  12. I really don't see the point in risking getting caught by either a nosey neighbour, the security guard (again), or the cops - hot boxing an apartment unit just isn't worth it.

Make yourself a sploof, buy a smoke buddy like a few others have suggested, and be sure to always blow your exhaled smoke out of a window in a room that's well ventilated. You'll get the same high in the end.

  13. Set up a 4 inch CF system and blow smoke straight into that :)

    Chef.

  14. Dude, I smoked about half ounce in my apartment a day for the first month, lol. Got evicted due to "Strong Weed Odor Reeking" from my apartment. It was my neighbors, but then I moved in a duplex that the landlord and neighbors were cool as shit. Honestly it depends on the landlord and neighbors. I did remove the smoke detectors from my aparment though. So honestly sit in the furthest closet and smoke in there only because if your smoking loud your neighbors will smell it, trust me. (Well depends on how much your talking about smoking)

  15. Covering your smoke detector or disabling it isn't a smart advice, what if you forget to uncover it and an emergency happened? Personally I know that at times I might pass out without turning off everything so I will never do such thing

  16. well we never cook in our apartment, most of our food is either delivered or we eat out

  17. Either smoke outside.
Blow the smoke by the window with a sploof or a smoke buddy (check it up)
    Vape

  18. Carbon filter + inline fan is probably the best bet easy

  19. Why wouldn't you just vape and use a sploof when you're at home?  Save smoking for other places where it's safe.

I agree with MotleyMama. Vaping you could get away no sploof window open and go through as much weed as you want. Vapes are sweet for keeping it on the downlow.
