strange feeling

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by sadman831, Dec 20, 2014.

  1. I have been an experienced smoker for about 4 years. I have been smoking/dabbing daily and have been loving it. For some odd fucking reason, now when ever I smoke even the smallest amount of cannabis I feel super strange, almost like I'm too high. I begin to feel overwhelming amounts of anxiety and feel like I have no energy. I feel my heart pounding (more than usual) and I just feel all around shitty. I have stopped smoking since, but I really loved it. Has this happened to any of you? If so have you overcame it or did you too have to quit this amazing hobby? Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Sometimes. It changes, sometimes a good high sometimes bad. Smoke where you're comfortable and with a mate, its the anxiety I know your feeling. I got this all the time when I was depressed, I'd smoke but it just made it worse because it added anxiety to depression. Good luck :) - Ben

  3. Certain strains cause anxiety..but that usually only lasts about half an hour...if its lasting longer, change strains...smoke less...just change it up.....I get anxiety every time I toke up now and have been a toker for over 4 decades....used to it, dont like that aspect of it but it comes with it....its really transient and passes quickly enough.

  4. Strawberry cough is good for anxiety.

    Chef.

  5. Thanks for the replys guys, but I don't think you guys understand. I went from being able to take 3 or 4 dabs or 5 bong rips of what ever strain to not being able to handle one small bong rip of mids. I doubt this is strain related.
Plus I've never suffered from depression before

  6. Its not the weed that's changed; it's your mind.

  7. Damn so i guess weed is no longer for me?

  8. Is anything else going on in your life at the moment that could be causing the stress and depression that just happens to become amplified or enhanced after smoking?

  9. I've been pretty sleep deprived latetly. Could that be it?

  10. But besides sleep deprivation nothing. I'm a pretty happy dude. My user name is sad man because I'm sad I can't smoke weed!

I've had similar things happen to me too and I ended up taking almost a year off each time. I would just get panic attacks and a weird tightness in my head/headache every time. I thought the weed was bad but all of my friends were fine. Then I thought maybe something was wrong with me. No idea why. Anyways once I got back into it I was fine, maybe pots just not for you right now if you're having bad highs.

I've been in the EXACT same situation as you. I've never been a dabber, but a daily smoker for the a little over a year now and have just recently dealt with overwhelming anxiety and lesser moods when high.

Since the high that you get from marijuana is subjective and varies person to person, the high you get depends heavily on what you currently are dealing with, where you're smoking, who you're smoking with, etc. If you're sleep deprived, it's probably going to have an affect on your ability to smoke larger doses of marijuana, much like if you were currently depressed.

  13.    Did you cut out a session or something? I know if you suddenly stop smoking in the mornings your other sessions will get you higher and amplify more feelings. Weed basically makes everything you're feeling stronger, so if you're getting anxious and depressed during it maybe there's something more going on.
You say you feel super high from just one bowl, isn't that good? Less weed, still just as high. You can try a strain that helps with anxiety, some of my favorites are Blue dream, Green crack, and God's gift. You also could just be having bad luck with your highs, getting a long streak of terrible highs.
Try smoking in a different location, or with a different piece, maybe this is your bodies way of telling you to slow down, being able to take 4 dabs at a time is nice, yes, but in the long run that won't be the best thing for you. If things really get bad, try taking a tolerance break for a while, only smoke when you really want to or need to, not just because you have it.

  14. @4xlolz in any other circumstance I would be stoked to get blazed from one bong rip, but this is a very uncomfortable high. I felt just complete shit. It very well be my body telling me a need a break though

  15. Smoke less. Like a bowl of .2g then see how you feel. If not high smoke .2 more and then come up. It's a different high completely

  16. Sounds similar to me

I've been smoking for 4 years, same thing happened to me when I was about 1.5-2 years in

Never really went away, now I smoke like once a week and by myself. I get way too overwhelmed to smoke around people

  17. The stupedest part of this all, is that I've never been anxious or anything. One day my body just decided that it hates marijuana.

  18. This happened to a buddy of mine, it started making him super anxious. I dont know man, bad luck i guess

  19. I've had that happen to me, but I have depression and anxiety issues to start with.  For me it seemed to stem out of anxieties about not doing enough with my life, so I adjusted my weed smoking:being productive ratio a little and went on with my life.  I still get more paranoid from weed than I used to/than I particularly want to, but it's not so bad.

For your situation, though, I'd suggest just taking a break.  Let everything reset inside you, ya know?  Then try again.
