Help choosing a new vape

Discussion in 'Vaporizers' started by dawizard420, Dec 20, 2014.

  1. Hey guys, I'm new to all this vaping stuff. I've only ever used a Solo before, but it was my friend's and we used it in small group settings.

Anyway, I really want to buy a vape for myself. I'm looking for a portable, stealthy vape, as I want to use it when I'm outside, maybe even in a public park or something.

At the very most I would be willing to spend up to around $180-ish.

I know the Solo is very highly regarded, but I would like something a little more discrete, as the long stems don't do the solo much good here. Not that the solo is totally out of the question, but I would like to know what other options there are.

I really like the flowermate v5.0s in terms of its discreteness and simplicity, but it seems a lot of people here are saying that it's vapor quality isn't very good.

It seems a lot of people also really like the mflb, but I don't like how complex it really is. I guess I could get over that learning curve, though.

Do you guys know anything about the V2 pro series 3? Is it any good?

What would you say is my best option given my price range?

Thanks guys, just need some help selecting a vape.

  2. I have a MFLB and the learning curve for me was pretty easy just watch a couple of vids then use it lol.

Even with proper use the mflb is not on the same level as the solo I have both. but you cant beat the mflb for stealth....you can hit it almost anywhere without the almost useless steam it fits right in your hand (looks like your yawning).

youll get more use from the solo

I would disagree,I've heard of alot of issues with the solos battery. I definitely wouldn't buy the solo. Not really sure why a vape with such a track record still gets so much praise around here...

On the other hand if I were to lose my mflb or somthing I would definitely consider buying it again.

  5.
Because the people who own them like them more than the people who don't own them?

  6.
But there are a lot of people who DO own them that don't like them and there are people who don't own them that wants to own them.

Both your statement and mine don't mean shit.

And in regards to what Hated said, when he said, "Not really sure why a vape with such a track record still gets so much praise around here.", my answer to that is that considering how much praise the Pax and the Volcano get around here, he shouldn't be that surprised.

  7. Happy to listen to opinions from people who own a Solo and like it, or people who own a Solo and don't like it. No use for "I don't own a Solo but I read somewhere it has battery problems" type of opinion. ;)

There are some here who do a LOT of reading from very qualified users and owners of various vaporizers over at FC.   They read these very qualified reviews, compile them and repeat those findings here and they are just as valid, if not more so than a review coming from an owner of a specific vape that has very limited experience with vaporizers.

You are really limiting yourself from some very valid information if you don't take that input into consideration.

  9. Hi dawizard420,  I own both MFLB and the Solo. They are both nice vapes worth owning, in my opinion. Solo has good battery life, incredible flavor, and is fun to share. MFLB is the better choice for stealth, which sounds like your top priority. :) The learning curve is not bad at all. The instruction book gives both easy and hard variations on the draw technique. There are no buttons, knobs, or switches, so the only two variables are your draw speed and whether the battery is engaged. It is kind of like learning to drive manual transmission and getting the feel for the clutch.

I haven't tried the Flowermate so I won't give my opinion.

  10.
There are more variables than that.

How long do you keep the battery engaged before you draw.
How long do you keep the battery engaged while you are drawing.
How much charge is left in the battery.
How finely is your bud ground.
    Etc.........

I wish it was only two variables but it's not.

  11. concerning the solos battery...I just watched a vid on how to change it if it happens most likey two years of hard use......takes less then two minutes and 45 bucks

I can buy a solo right now, still wouldn't change the fact that the batteries are notorious for shitting out.

Also if you don't want to read my opinions you could always put me on ignore. Or go play solitaire or something it requires a lot less people skills.

  13. I own and heavily used a solo for a couple years. The taste is good for the first 2 or 3 hits then it diminishes quick. The battery life was better at the beginning, but now I get about two sessions. At one point I couldn't charge it up so it sat for a couple months now it's working again. I rarely use it anymore because I prefer my mflb for on the go and herbalaire for at home through a small bubbler.

  14. I bought a solo from my roommate. He had it for roughly a year and used it plenty. I have used it several times a day for the last few months, and the battery still works fine. He bought a new one when I bought his a few months ago, and his new one has had no issues either. He has not replaced the battery in the one I now own, and I can still get 3-5 bowls on a charge.

The battery has been fine overall, and I love everything else about it. However, I use it as somewhat of a substitute for a desktop vape. If you want a stealthy on the go vape, do not get the solo.

  15. The new Arizer Air is the way to go.
