My plants are beginning to have their tips turn yellow/brown. Their bottom leaves, (the "bull shit" leaves if you will) have yellowed off and almost fallen off (although I expected this).

They are about four weeks old. All autoflowering plants. I don't think they are nearly as big as most autoflowering plants should be.

They have tons of light, I water them once every 2-3 days, sometimes once a day very lightly. They aren't overwatered. (I dealt with that earlier and know how much is too much now).

I just got done mixing 1 TSP of fish emulsion in a quart of water.

I sprayed 4 sprays to each plant yesterday from a water bottle, and 7-9 sprays today with the same water bottle with new fish emulsion.

They are all in perlite/vermiculite mixes. I just started giving them the fish emulsion as I was told buy a lowes employee that I needed to give all plants nutrients in some way shape or form.

Will post a few pictures in a sec.

  2. Any help is greatly appreciated. I really do need a solution.

  3. First...your average Lowe's employee from the garden section doesn't really know shit. Want proof? Look up proper care and maintenance of a relatively common houseplant, walk into the gardening section, and ask some relatively deep questions you already know the answers to.

Second...you can still over-feed your plants with the emulsion.

Third, if your medium already has nutes, you DON'T need to "give nutes", as you ALREADY DID...when you planted them.

Fourth...got plenty of plant matter above the dying leaves? Is it only the deeper leaves dying? If so, that's completely normal...the leaves are "waste" once they're not getting enough light to justify maintaining the biological costs of keeping them healthy. Every grow I've been involved in, indoor and out, bottom and core leaves start dying off a bit about halfway through veg (autoflowers aren't as bad about this, but they are also genetically programmed to stay smaller), and by the time it was time to flower, pretty much all leaves in the bottom third of the plant were dead or dying, Doesn't matter, those leaves aren't feeding anything that'll get enough light to become a respectable bud, anyhow.

  4. You rock. Thank you for the information.

  5. Can you put a full colour photo up? Otherwise we would just be guessing. You shouldn't have any yellowing if you are just 4 weeks from germination.

It sounds like you could be overdosing them with nutes and watering too often too

  6. Pics coming in just a sec

  7. if you've ever grown outside, you know God created those bottom fan leaves to die and turn yellow to mulch the plant to protect the roots from the hot sun and protect the plant from extended drought.

Unless you have a degree in bio chemistry, it is beyond me how any amateur can grow in perlite/vermiculite. Did a wizard give you the exact alchemy formula?

If your plants are turning bad inside, it is your own fault, something you are doing, since indoors, all their other needs are being met perfectly, better than Mother Nature could ever do for herself.

The usual suspects are too much water or too much fertilizer. The way we baby our indoor plants and all the crap we pour on them, well... let me just say, I have never seen an indoor plant with a deficiency, but I have seen plenty that were just about killed with love.

  8. I was not claiming to be an expert.

You don't need any concentrate of perlite/vermiculite. They will grow in any mixture. I don't know what in the world you were talking about when you decided to say that.

This is my first grow. Give me a break. It's a month of my time and I have reason to be worried -- I need to know everything is going okay.

  9. If a few do it no worry.....if all the tips are burning....start a straight h20 flush for a few goes....itll live....so will you

  10. Can you explain to me what a flush is?

  11. Its simply ph water.....its to correct whatever is hot in your medium. None of this info may be correct without a picture of what you are talking about though.
Unless you really know your shit and are good with words....people will have no clue whats your problem is.

  12. oh, ok, sorry, I thought you wanted to know what others think, I didn't know you just wanted to feel good and know everything is ok

in that case, don't worry, everything is ok

  13. You can't know "everything is OK", if we don't have the proper information to tell you whether or not it's a "leave it the fuck alone, it's fine" issue or a "dude, those are fucked, but you can TRY this" issue.

lotek's right...if all you want is your back patted, you've wasted your month's work. If you want to SEE something out of that month's work...give the folks you're asking for help from the information they need TO help.

If you were a mechanic, and I called you saying my check engine light was on, and the car made an odd whir-squeak-whir noise, asking if it was OK...would you simply say "yeah, it's fine, just keep driving it", or would you want more information, in order to judge what I might be able to do about it, and what the problem actually is?

    Same situation.

Pics of the girls. I'm mostly worried about the most droopy one. (That's the third one)

  15. Also, the curling on the first picture. I can't imagine that it's overwatering because I stopped watering them nearly as much as I used to. Any help genuinely appreciated.

  16. If the only thing you are feeding them is fish emulsion then that's probably your problem. You need a complete hydroponic nutrient. If you were growing in soil you may have been able to scrape by, but you need proper hydro nutes that has all the elements that the plants require.

Yellowing leaves is never normal unless it in the last week before harvest

  17. Im not an auto person but in veg a lower yellowing leaf is normal, it indicates the node using the energy from the leaf to make a new branch. Autos are a whole different world. But in general, quit spraying your plants and give it to the roots.
