DIY LED or Retail LED?

  1. I'm about to make a Veg and a Flower light. What I'll be using is the Cree 3590 3000k for Flower and 5000k for Veg. I have already Purchased some great Lights from Mars Hydro but I need to know if it's better to build or buy. Already received 8 of out my 12 COB's. I also ordered 10 Mean Well drivers a 700ma for efficiency. Ordered heat sinks form Heatsinksusa.com. I still have to order some fans and drivers for the fans and wait for everything to get here.

  2. Hey, I'm no expert but i think you already know the answer to your questions:)
You've bought possibly the best LED's on the market at present. Those Cree COB's are mighty powerful.
And Meanwell are some of the best driver's too.
I hope you know what you're doing with the electronics though!

  3. Sorry, i think the answer is.. If you have enough knowledge to build your own safely then DIY Cree cobs are the way to go.
But if you have loads of money and less electronic skills then buy Area51, AdvancedLED, ApacheTech or PlantPhotonics.
    Goodluck!

  4. Yes I do, you must not have skills for that comment.
