So there you have it... The top 5 theater companies are a bunch of pussies, bending to the will of what is most likely  a complete bullshit threat and taking a movie out of their theaters. All this tells people is if you are offended by a movie, please send in a threat, and we will be happy to take the movie out of our theaters. This is the start of some extreme censorship.
People can't live every minute in fear, just like after The Dark Knight Rises tragedy, I still made sure to go see the movie opening night because you can't just let fear win. This kind of censorship is going to be terrible for the country.

Oh yeah, and does anyone remember a little movie called Team America where the North Korean leader was killed?

  2. Sony has cancelled the movies release altogether. This kind of thing makes me see red. Bowing to an obviously fake threat. And why do these hackers give a shit what a movie says about some fat turd? Are they from North Korea?

I am having a hard time understanding what is actually going on here.

Looks like the government is gonna say North Korea is behind the attacks but honestly I am surprised Sony is pulling the film. Hopefully they release the film in some fashion so I can still view it because I did really wanna see it.

That being said though this is all bullshit. This is our freedom of speech being attacked, and as an American I am thoroughly pissed. I am kind of sad that there isn't more of an uproar about this. Whether or not you enjoy these types of films is irrelevant. Bottom line is another country (or group if it is not NK) is trying to censor us as Americans.

  4. Interesting.  I didn't know that the threats were BS.  When I heard about The Interview, I felt scared for the people involved. It seemed to me like there might be repercussions. But what you're saying makes sense - that this is a perfect opportunity for fear mongering and censorhip.
    Thanks.

  5.
    This.

    This.

    And this.

As Americans I understand the sensitivity of this issue and what's smart
and what's not. We should also think about what's right. I'm not a weak
person. I don't live in a weak country. The men and women who risk their
lives for our freedom sure as hell aren't weak either.

So why are we allowing ourselves to be scared and intimidated?

Guess I must be missing something. :confused_2:

  6. the whole thing is outrageous..

seems that NK is more worried about a fictional comedy film than actual US troops at their border..
you'd think they would make more threats about that, than a silly movie.

When Shakespeare wrote "Macbeth" and the King Duncan was killed Shakespeare did not write it into the play. It just seems bad taste to have art depicting the murder of someone of such high rank. However, fuck North Korea. That movie looks dumb anyway. So fuck it all.

  8. Okay, so Sony releases the movie and someone bombs a couple theaters killing hundreds.

    What happens next?

Keep in mind NK has nukes pointed at South Korea.

  9. Well I doubt Korea would do shit even if the movie is released..

But if they did then I guess we would send in James Franco and Seth Rogen?

  10. I think they should not have pulled it from theatres. I was quite looking forward to watching it. Taking it always show when don't like something they can just threaten people and it's gone.

  11. If I believed North Korea was behind the attacks, I think the nukes would change direction to Japan since they are enemies and sony is a Japanese company.

  12. In my opinion, this will make the movie even more popular. I'm sure someone has a version and will upload it to the webz.

I was surprised they pulled the film, i actually thought it was a hoax.

I don't believe NK is capable of James Bond type stuff, sending agents to the US.

  13. Regardless, they will end up releasing digitally at the very least. But still this is an awful decision and the start of the collapse of movie theaters, as apparently all you need to do to get a movie pulled is send a fucking email.

Anyone agreeing with this decision, I am sorry, but you are a scared little bitch. This threat was bullshit, and terrorists won. Bottom line.

  14. But anyways, it's a fucking movie, not sure why people are getting so bent.

If NK made a threat and I couldn't eat anymore, yeah then I'd be pissed about it.

Not being able to watch a movie I won't watch anyways..... I got bigger problems

  15. It's not just about the movie. It is about freedom of speech and artistic censorship. This is a pretty big deal.

  16. I think they are just targeting sony pictures which I believe (not sure) is American based

  17. It's whatever. Let me know when the torrent is out Sony:)

  18. Yeah this has a lot less to do with this movie and a lot more to do with all movies going forward. Giving into fear and terrorist threats shows anyone who is offended by a movie that they can get rid of it with a simple fucking email. That is the main issue here, whether you were going to see this movie or not.
