Yet another heat/venting question

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by Jessev, Dec 17, 2014.

  1. I am setting up my first 4x4 tent with a 600w light.  I've had alot of issues with temps in the past.  Should I leave the exhaust fan running continuously?  Or plug it into a temp controlled switch so it only kicks on when heat starts to build?
I am thinking of using a 6in inline exhaust fan blowing directly up from the top of the tent.  And 2 open vents at the bottom for negative air pressure intake.  As well as a small fan inside to keep the air moving.
The tent will be a veg room with 24 hour light and a minature ebb and flow table.  Clay pellets will be the medium.
    Thanks

  2. I have a very similar setup and chose to run my 6 inch exhaust 24/7. However, I also purchased a speed controller for the fan, and that has really let me dial in the temp as the seasons and ambient air temps change. Good luck!

  3.   Check out Just4Growers. a few good articles as you scroll down in various sections; to include ventilation and environmental control.

  4. Hey,
Yeah we have a tent with one fan. Problem is if a temp controller is used then the fan will turn off and your negative pressure is gone. We are considering getting a 4" to run constantly and put our 8" on a controller.
