ABV qwiso with everclear

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Frank_S, Dec 17, 2014.

  1. I have 5 cups of ABV bud that I am thinking of making a qwiso with. If I use everclear would that make the finished product editable?

No, it should make no difference. The end product is edible no matter what if you used AVB

  3. Thanks. I think I have a project for tomorrow then.

  4. But...qwiso is hash. Not an edible. Just sayin'. QWISO, or quick wash isopropyl is where you use isopropyl alcohol (aka not everclear) to "wash" the trichomes off of bud (probably wouldnt work too well with abv since the trichs are all gone from vaping). The iso is left to evaporate to reach an end product of hash/hash oil.

Avb is edible because whats left in it has already been decarbed. Meaning, the qwiso would be decarbed already, thus ready to be eaten.

Only it should be way stronger than nornal avb.

  6. Yes, AVB is edible but if he's using it to make Qwiso, that's not something you want to eat... You smoke hash not eat it. And qwiso is not made with everclear, its made with, well, isopropyl (as the name suggests)

You're splitting hairs over the use of the term QWISO.

The principle of the wash remains the same. Everclear is is 95% alcohol. Most Iso is just 91%. So Everclear should still make the extraction.

The main difference being Everclear is able to be consumed, where as Iso is not.

OP why not just make some green dragon if you want to use grain alcohol?

  10. I wouldn't try making qwiso with everclear, get 91% or higher Isopropyl alcohol at a drugstore. Or you can make a tincture using the everclear, but I have done that with AVB before and it tastes terrible.

Fresh green bud is preferable to ABV for any "wash" technique (like QWISO) because ABV's trichomes have already been vaped out, so there's nothing left to wash away. Your finished product will likely contain mostly little bits of toasted plant matter. :(

I use my ABV for cooking, a highly bio-effective method that uses no poisonous alcohol or solvents. Chocolate seems to mask the taste nicely. :)

  12. Just becase it was washed with iso doesnt mean it cant still be eaten. Your supposed to wait for it ALL to dry away. Not most.

  13.
    But everclear is not iso...

I just don't understand why all of you think its okay to EAT hash...  :bolt:
At least, like, cook the hash into some brownies or something. Don't eat it raw >.<

  15.
Which is especially ironic because ABV itself can just be eaten raw. OP is basically asking how to turn a delicious edible herb into a foul tasting concentrated sludge. ;)

  16. I realize that. Someone above mentioned eating the iso version of this being bad for you due to eating iso.

Exactly lol. This thread is confusing

  18. The reason I don't want to make a tincture is I had a problem with booze in the past and don't want to drink any. Simple answer. I tried eating it straight and it tastes like crap and I have to eat a lot. If I make a decarbed hash I can put it into capsules and swollow no taste.

  19. For what its worth, everclear works great for alcohol hash. I prefer using something that is actually made to be ingested as opposed to rubbing alcohol.

  20. Cant you just...powder/grind up the avb and put that in the capsules? Why the extra step of making hash?
