Xbox 360 disc tray help

    When I put in a game it says open tray. I juts bought this one a few months ago when my old one did the same thing. Any one know how to fix it??

    My last two 360s got traded in for the same reason, its the disc reader in your Xbox, its shot

    If you trust yourself and have steady hands you can open it up and replace the laser reader thing yourself, tutorials can be found on youtube, it'll be cheaper and faster than getting it repaired by Microsoft, but it'll also void any warranty

    This exactly. Pretty common problem with Xbox's. If it's still in warranty you're probably better just sending it away. If not have a bash yourself, I managed to fix mine (since it was out of warranty), then again my dads an engineer so that kinda helps.

    Take out the disc and then close the tray. With no disc in it should reset the laser. Then put in the disc and try again. Also you may have to reset it.

    If this fails your laser needs to be replaced.

    One of mine started doing this the other day right after it got force updated.

    When this happens I start my 360 up while holding it at different angles. Then when it takes I ease it down slowly to its usual position.

    When I got this problem I found tapping\\smacking the shit out of the top of the xbox right over where the disk would be if you had the xbox laying flat would get it to work every 15th try or so. It was very annoying but got it to work for about 3 months like that until it died all together.

    I had a original 360 for 6 years and this happened. Bought a refurbished one from gamestop. Had it a year and now it died too. The first one was gradual like trixman. But with the new one I was playing for like 4 hours. Turned it off to run to the store and when I came back it was dead

    Have you fixed it yet? Mine has the same problem with certain games. I dosnt read black ops 2. It took opening and closing the try a couple times for black ops one to read. Which is weird because it works with any other game so far. And i have had my box since it came out the origanl big white box. My xbox gets loud when its on idk why just old i guess.

    i laid it down flat and tapped the shit out of it when I put in a game and it works perfectly
