Pyrex Bong Repair

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by iona, Dec 16, 2014.

  1. Ok, so I bought myself a pyrex glass bong just yesterday. When I got home I realised there was a tiny crack about an inch down from the lip, however when i later tried to remove a sticker in that location, the entire lip broke off.
It's a clean break, and one that looks like it can easily be repaired, I just have no clue about how to go in terms of repairing it. I've read about head shops etc. but I don't think they exist where I live. I was wondering if some sort of superglue would do the trick? Obviously I'd like the breaking point to be as invisible as possible! :bongin:  :hello:
(am happy to attach photos if people want to see them)

  2. Hmm... my best guess is go to a craft store, hardware store, or a auto parts store and just ask for something to glue glass. If they even care to ask (which they don't) just say it's for some crafts or something. It's the holidays everyone is doing craft stuff.

Super glue might work, but you might have more success with two-part epoxy cement or a silicone.

  3. Sounds like a faulty bong that they knowingly sold you. I would go back to return it and if they don't give your money back you will have to take justice into your own hands.

  4. I emailed a bong repair shop in Cali and they gave me an estimate of 125 and the only thing I wanted fixed was a few chips at the edges of the base. I only paid $150 for the bong although it think it's worth more, maybe not now that it's chipped. But maybe I just like my piece. I have yet to find a cheap or DIY bong fix. 7. Dude, take that shit back. The fact that a sticker was put over the blemish is super whack.

  8. Did you buy that in a shop or online? Either way, call or email the shop explaining the situation.  Most likely this won't get you anywhere but you should ask anyways.  If it was bought in a shop, you're probably fucked cause they will probably say you had the chance to inspect it.

Don't do shit repairs.  If it's a shitty piece, get a new one, if it's nice and worth repairing find a glass blower.  There are people on fb who repair glass, or call shops in the area to see if they know someone.  If you're around the philly area, I can probably find someone for you.  If the piece is only 100-300 bucks, it's probably best to just get a new piece, the repair would probably run you most of that cost and if you have to ship....just not worth the time and trouble unless you can just drive to a glass workshop and drop it off.

  9. god i love knowing a glassblower after hearing this. I got a custom stemless mini tube with a hand poked inline perc and one of my ash catchers repaired for 125
