Ok people welcome back. This I my second grow ever. My first was a very good learning experience. It had its ups and downs. I didnt get alot of bud from each plant but I also was being extremely cheap and used 1 gallon milk jug bubblers the whole grow. I'm changing things up this time around. Growing hydro wasn't bad but I want to try going with a soilless mixture and I'm using sphagnum peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, sand, and lime. I have a general organics go box with the nutes ill be using. I currently have 8 Northern Lights bag seeds starting. 4 have broke the surface and opened. 2 were starting to break the surface this morning when I cut lights out on my one plant from last grow that still flowering lol. The other 2 had germinated before i put them in soil, just like the rest, but they were slower than the others so a day behind them. I'm using XL solo cups for the first couple of weeks then I will move them into 2 gallon pots where they will stay till I chop them. 2 gallons should be plenty of room for the roots since I'm starting with 12/12 off the get go. So lets settle in and get comfortable folks. Actual picks of plants and all that will come this evening when I turn on lights.

  2. Pics as promised. All 8 of the seeds have actually broke through the surface of the soil. 2 have barely done it, but they have broke the surface and should be standing up straight and tall in the morning.

  3. Looking good. Looking good. All have broke the surface and are standing up straight and strong lol. I watered them all today and added the necessary medium to bury the babies better up to about an inch from the leaves.

Sorry folks for not posting sooner. Had company most of the night so I waited for the update. One of the 2 youngest (the runt of the group) has a small part where one of the two seed leaves (can't spell their name but it starts with cot) is damaged and probably from me helping it out of the seed shell that was still stuck on. Other than that they are looking good. The runt has been highlighted it the pic.

  5. Babies are growing fast and strong. Most already have a second set of leaves showing. Other than that they are doing great. Even the runt of the litter lol.

  6. Looking good bro, goddess luck and may there be plenty ladies in that batch.

  7. Thank you. I'm doing my best and learning as I go.

  8. Nothing wrong with that, I am doing the same. F.y.i., there are some great botany and plant biology lectures on YouTube that are from recent Berkeley courses. Just type in plant biology lectures or botany lectures.

  9. Babies are doing good. Even the runts are doing good for their size. They all have their third set of true leaves poking their heads out from under the sheets. Got about a week or so till I transplant or at least till I try lol. If it doesn't go as it should due to not enough root growth then ill wait another week and check again. I'm figuring two or three weeks. I'm starting to think its going to be closer to three weeks because i am using XL solo cups so they have alot more room to grow as they are in a larger than normal cup.

  10. Just finished tending to the babies. PH is staying just about the same across the board for all the babies. At about a 6.3-6.5 around watering time and about a 5.8-6.1 when I water. Not a big fluctuation of PH between the two which is good right? I'll be adding lime she I repot. That will help stabilize it even better. I took a few pics just to show third set of true leaves poking out and plant height with just how close the nodes are right now. Nothing super special.

  11. Little late posting this update, bit better late than never and besides its not a big one. Just something that I noticed this morning before lights went out. The babies look like they are doing better in the current soilless mix than the bubblers of the previous grow. They look beautiful yo me lol.

  12. Just finished checking on the babies and they are doing ok. Fighting a ph issue that popped up last night. I just watered yesterday evening and I'm hoping as it dry's out the ph will balance out some, but I'm going to give it a small top dressing of lime when they wake up this evening to prevent this from happening again or to get a start on fighting it. Friday will make 2 weeks since they were put into soil. A few days after that makes 2 weeks since they sprouted above soil. I'm going to give them another week before I transplant. They are in XL solo cups so they have extra room for roots to grow.

  13. PH issue has worked out some. They are sitting around a 6 now instead of a 5.5. As the soil dries out they are adjusting. Putting in the lime will make this issue not so much of an issue but something to look out for and keep an eye on. Other than that they are doing good.

  14. I watered the babies last night at lights on. With lime topping I added to cups the ph is ranging from 6.5-6.9(about). That's good for soil/soilless from what I've been reading. They are doing really good though.

  15. Have a few more days till I plan on transplanting the babies. I did a little LST to them tonight when the lights switched on. I don't know if its going to actually do anything good for them or not since I'm not doing any topping on them and the grow tent is going to be full lol. Otherwise they are doing really good. PH is staying right around a 6.5-6.8.

  16. Just had a thought lol. I was thinking of an idea to spiral the babies around the rim of the pots and up in order to help keep them short and expose more of the older and lower nodes to more light. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Again its just a thought or idea.

  17. Ok folks its been about a week or so... Plus or minus since I last posted. I've been keeping a paper journal and they were just seedlings... Frankly i was tired of just saying everything was good a million different ways lol. I'll be transplanting the babies tomorrow. I have the pots all getting to room temp right now so it wont cause as much of a shock to the plants. As of right now 6 of the original 8 have sexed and are showing female. One still hasn't shown either and another showed male.

  18. Looks nice and healthy bro, glad you were able to sex before flower. Hop e it goes smoothly for you.

  19. Sex before flower? Its a 12/12 from seed lol. The only way to tell sex with bag seeds is to flower them, hence the name of my journal "12/12 from seed" these babies have never seen more than 12 hours of light from day one. It took between 2-3 weeks for them to all show sex and begin to flower. I have 6 of the 8 potted up in 2 gallon pots and #7 of 8 still in a solo cup. #8 of 8 was a known male so its gone. I didn't exactly expect 6 or 7 of 8 to be female lol. One still hasn't sexed yet and it was supposed to be the one I left in the solo cup but I was paying attention and transplanted it anyway. The good thing is that they all had another week at least till they were root bound. They were in XL solo cups after all, so I have time to get another pot. Illl post pics tonight.

  20. Got ya, I did not realize you did 12/12 from the beginning. I sexed both of mine before flower, one male one female. I was wondering how you figured out the sex so early in the grow, lol. Looks good either way, why 12/12 from the beginning? Space restrictions, science project, tester to see how it is?
