So I was being lazy and decided instead of cleaning out one rig I will just use the other one. I swtich my brand new(about 2 weeks old) HE infinity nail from my 18mm rig to my 14mm. I figured for shits and grins I would check its air tight. Well I can get a tiny pull with the nail on the 14mm. On the 18 shit is air tight.

I have experimented with lowering and raising the threaded part but no luck. It is a legit HE infinity nail from ALT. also the rig is a Sheldon Black cocentrator so its not like the joint is shoddy craftsmanship.

    Any ideas? Thoughts?

  2. Is it a hand ground joint?

If not is just put a piece if parchment paper around the joint to make it more airtight.

  3. By golly your on to something. Just cuz I thought the infinity should fit everything other then 10mm and 29?mm air tight. Live and learn.

  4. I don't get it? Lol maybe cause I've been drinking som wisk... Lol

Anyways, yeah a hand ground joint is usually the reason it's not air tight.

If you got it of ALT you deff got a legit HE nail.

If it's not a hand ground joint then it's a bad joint. Parchment paper solves usually solves it.

I believe it was @DR.FUMBLES that suggested this

  5. Thats weird just because every "universal" nail ive ever used fit so much snugger on my 14mm sized joints and would be a tiny bit wobbly on my 18mm's. Parchment paper does work but id try it for a day or two without to see if any claim buildup helps it be airtight. If it is, in fact a shoddy joint it sometimes it works better/worse depending on how its sitting try rotating it a lil

  6. I always use parchment on my joints with a domless to reduce stains. But I just think the infiniti leaks air at the spot where the screw connects to the female adapter because both of mine have done it and so does my friends

  7. Yeah, I thought thats where the air was coming from but then I filled the rig with water and blew into it to see where the water leaked. It was leaking from the bottom. I prob could have just done a few dabs and let the claim clog it but those hits would have been shitty.

The parchment paper works great. Thanks for all the info.

  8. Well my friend, I must say you really proved nothing with that test other then the known laws of gravity/physics ;)

When I had my Infiniti nail. It was completely air tight

  9. Check the inside if the nail sleeve. It could be damaged

  10. Wasn't trying to prove anything, just locate the leak.

Inside of the nail looks fine. Im guessing I would notice something if it was damaged.

  11. Yeah it would be pretty noticeable.

I was just joking man. But seriously the water would leak out of the bottom either way even if it was more air right
