I like listening to rap beats without the words but I can't get over the personas of rap.  It's weird because I used to be such a white gangster wannabee kid with fitted hats and would freestyle rap with my friends.  I still smoke blunts because I like the taste and the process but i'm just not about that culture anymore.  Now I just love classic rock.  That song "lifestyle" by young thug is catchy and a few others...but I've almost completely grown out of the "rap stage".  anyone else like me?  Or is everyone still a wigger on this earth besides me...  Seems even the racist kids like the real poppish rap.

I think I'm going where the water tastes like wine

  2. Everyone's musical tastes evolve. It's just how life works lol.

A lot of people listen to music in phases.

  3. I cant get out of it because ive been listening to it for a long time now, but raps certainly dieing for sure. Electronic music is slowly taking over among the younger kids

Oh yeah stringed instruments with some long haired dude singing about bullshit is so much more evolved lyrically than any form of rap music.

Gotta save those "wiggers" from that uncivilized jungle music.

  5. Not a fan of lil'Wayne or Wiz whats his name.  Most folks didn't really like the early 90's gangster rap evolution, but this modern evolution seems...kinda gay.

Not in a homophobic way, but in an actually gay way.  Why would I want to listen to some dude talk about their long dick and getting blow jobs and shit?  What's the point of that? At least in the 90's there was some real talk in the lyrics, now it's like 80's rock - no more heart and all about cool.

With that said there is some really good hip hop coming out of Harlem.

  6. Gimme some NWA or Russell Simmons any day..

This "Taylor gang" shit is whack...

Otheres still great rap and rappers out there, but rarely anything on most mainstream radio is worth listening to.

  8. Most of its rather horrible nowadays. You really have to dig around, but there's still decent rappers around. Quality =/= commercial success or radio play

  10. It depends if you're listening to real Hip Hop or bullshit rap, there's a difference.
Everyone's music tastes change though so it's probably just that, I'm a hip hop head for life though :bong:

This right here. Because OP mentions how even the "racist kids" that listen to rap now listen to pop rap. Clearly caring and following others lol.

These are the comments I don't understand. What is real hip hop and what is "bullshit"? Who makes that standard up? You? See what I'm saying?

To me my rap is the real deal and to you your rap is the real deal.

  17. Most rappers these days are soft mf thats why i dont listen to them.

  18. I know it's cliché

But if you think raps dead you were never really into rap.

Lotta really solid artists putting out music these days ya just have to actually look for it. Not gunna appear on the radio or pandora.

    Skiggy Rapz

    Whiskey Blanket and countless others.

Guys like young thug get old fast.
