  1. HOLY TOLEDO Pahly, those roots are almost FILLING the BUCKET! Well done sir, well done indeed!

  2. Thanks PurpleMonkey, You have some darn fine roots yourself.  Hopefully more roots equates to more bud.

    Coco Plants
Plants were looking hungry and the pots felt light so I decided it was time to feed them.  I mixed up a batch of fresh nutes for them.

    8L of RO water
    10ml of Liquid Karma
    10ml of PBP Grow
    500ml of bennie tea
    pH down to 5.8pH

I gave each plant 250ml of nutes.  I also transplanted 4 of the NL clones to coco

  6. That is a solid root ball mate.

  7. Thanks G2D  It seems to be liking the consistently higher water level of the RDWC and is filling in more at the top, nearer the net pot.  I'm pretty happy with the way things are going at the moment.  The RDWC has made maintaining the res so much easier.   I'm going to have to make my way over to your thread soon and check it out, it's been a minute since I've been by.

  8. All good mate. I would of assumed your max temps would of been a bit high but obviously not. They are around the temps I've been getting that scared me off dwc in the short term because I thought the res would get too hot.

  9. The temp has been reaching 73f by lights out, the res is outside the tent which I think helps a great deal.  I also run beneficial bacteria which allows me a slight bit more leeway with the temps.  I am also planning on adding a frozen 2 litre bottle to the res each day  when I get home after work which is at about the time the temp is getting up to 70f.  I'm thinking of covering the unused bucket with mylar as well to help reduce the temps.  I think the bennies really help a lot as well.

Plant is slowing it's stretch, having to raise the light less all the time.  No pictures today as there isn't that noticeable of a change from yesterday.  I am not adding nutes back as the ppm seems to be set too high, I'll simply add back water and adjust pH till I see the plant is taking in nutes.  the high tent temps are causing the plant to drink more than it is eating.

Plant is doing well, upward growth seems to have stopped.  haven't had to raise the light the last couple days.  buds are now more noticeable and growth seems to have switched to bud production. I am surprised at how quickly this plant is filling in, on other plants I have grown in the past bud development wasn't this far along for another 5 days.

    Notes
I shut the light off early and allowed it to cool, before removing the glass from the hood. I changed the MH bulb out and put in the HPS.  I was a bit surprised at the lumen difference when I compared the two, MH has 55000 lumens and the HPS has 85000 lumens. that is almost a 50 increase in lumens over the MH.  I'm hoping the plants like it.  I also did some defoliation, mainly in the centre of the plant to open it up and allow more light and air to the middle of the plant.  The plant didn't receive any training and was only topped once due to height concerns.

  14.
Hey mate how come so low on the Ph? Do you have any pics of the coco plants or have I missed them? DWC stuff looks sweet.

  15. Hey G2D, Good catch, I fed at that pH as it is where the nutes landed and I didn't have time to adjust it, I figured it was in the 5.5 to 6.5 range for hydro so it would be ok, plants didn't seem to mind.  I have been shooting for a 5.8ph for the coco plants. Would you recommend something different??  I will take some pics next time I water/feed them.  I'm mostly growing them to see how coco works, and looking for a male to make some seeds. They are in solo cups.  They haven't gotten a lot of light as they have been the shortest plants, as a result they are fairly stretched.  I'll take some pics next  time I water/feed them.

  16. Nah all good was just checking. I do the same thing and let it fluctuate, if one week is a bit low then the next week I'll make it a bit higher.

I also started alternating with Calmg water every second water or so and it's been working great, I use too be a feed every watering guy but not anymore.

  17. Hey G2D, do you include calmag in your feeds?? what ppm are you adding with the plain water?  I'm going to try alternating feed and water.  From what I've seen of your coco plants they look happy.  Thanks for the tip.

    Pahly

  18. I've always got calmag going in unless I'm flushing, around 200ppm. Do what works for you mate, if you can keep feeding them and they look happy then all good.

It was getting some nutrient burn and PH problems that's why I backed off on the feeding.

  19. Hey G2D,  I'm going to give it a try see how it goes, they are extra plants so I don't mind experimenting a bit with them.  Who knows I might learn something.

topped the two plants for next round to prepare them for training, I want them to bush out a bit, I'm going to try mainlining as a technique.  next step will be to choose two branches for "manifold", and prune off the rest.
