I added water AFTER I added the butter and weed

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Hamachi12, Dec 10, 2014.

  1. So I made a last minute judgement call and decided to use the method of cooking the canna butter in water. When I added it, everything quickly made a hissing sound and started to kinda bubble. So I turned the heat off. As of right now, it's gently simmering on as low as it can go. The color is brownish. Is everyone still ok? Or did I ruin it

  2. Oh. And I still added the water early on. Like the weed and butter were only simmering, previously, for about 10 mins.

    Post a pic?

Sounds like you might have burned your butter and/or herb. Next time use a double boiler. :)

ps If you are using the water method, you want to use a generous amount of water, enough that the butter floats on the surface of the simmering water, like a fat-slick. The idea is to use the water itself as an improvised double boiler (for people who don't own a double boiler or the tools to make one) and then you refrigerate it and the solidified oil lifts right out.

  4. Tis okay, you just made it a little less concectrated.
